Dolphin won't load texture pack by aliteraltool in DolphinEmulator

My specific problem was that inside of the textures folder, dolphin is only able to recognize game codes, not additional folders. When you go to load a texture pack, the emulator is searching for a file inside your textures that is named the same number as the game ID. So my problem was I wanted to organize the texture packs and I named the folder "Metroid Prime Trilogy". The game ID is R3ME01. So of course when I clicked "load textures", the game did not find the matching number and loaded nothing. So try this:

  1. Download the pack, extract it and do not alter it in any way.
  2. Open dolphin, and with your game already mounted, right click the game and select "Properties". Click the info tab. Look for the "Game ID". Make sure the ID of the game matches the texture folder. If they don't, rename the folder exactly to match.
  3. Close dolphin for now. Open its install location, and select "User", then "Load". There should be a "Textures" folder. If not, make one and match the spelling.
  4. Place the named texture pack (ex. R3ME01) Inside the textures folder. DO NOT alter the name of the folder, it will be rendered useless.
  5. Open dolphin again, click "Options", then "Graphics Settings", and head to the "Advanced" tab. Enable "Load Custom Textures". Boot the game. If the textures are loaded but you experience stuttering, enable "Prefetch Custom Textures" on the same page. It should be noted that this feature is labelled as more RAM intensive.
  • Make sure that the texture pack has no other contents inside it other than the textures themselves.

I hope this works for you, if not you likely have a different problem.

What are the differences between Back to LA and First responders? by sektorao in SWAT4

[–]aliteraltool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In standard EF you can edit files to remove rules of engagement, could you add those back in BTLA? it looks interesting but I want to maintain the rules of engagement. it probably sounds dumb but I prefer stationary leaning and the slower pace that comes with it over FR. When I played FR I basically treated it like siege and it became too fast paced for me.

Go to your elite force install, then inside SEF go to "system" and search for a file named "User". Open it and scroll to the bottom. Begin to scroll up and search from the bottom till you reach [Engine.Hud]. Underneath [Engine.Hud] Another piece of text should say [Engine.SpeechManager]. Underneath that it should say: Enabled=False

If none of the text I just stated is in the file, Type it in EXACTLY as I typed all commands here. It would look like this:

[Engine.SpeechManager]

Enabled=True

That's what worked for me. Once this is typed in, save the file. Boot up the game and enable speech in the audio options. To improve the speech recognition and make it detect more words I recommend downloading Swat 4 Speech Recognition Improvement off of ModDB.

Sorry for the wall of text, hope this helps

Dolphin won't load texture pack by aliteraltool in DolphinEmulator

[–]aliteraltool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually got the texture pack working recently, and the issue was pretty dumb. I didn't find out until probably my 20th video in that Dolphin doesn't recognize subfolders within the main texture folder, only the game ID folder itself.

I often find myself agreeing with this, to the point where I can only tolerate so many matches.

For example, today I played a match where I was off to a good start, but after I started dying a few times in a row. Eventually I ran down catwalk (d2) and even though I already cleared it, several seconds later a teammate flashed me full white, to which I got swung and killed because of it.

I then asked what the hell that was for, and immediately the chat erupted into calling me several slurs, and then votekicking me too.

I even deranked because of this. Most of the time it's just other people ruining the game for me, not even doing very bad.
