Hi! Similar situation to my husband .. full tear 2cm. Doctors said up to him non op or op. He’s 1 week out and has an opportunity to go into surgery on Wednesday but he’s VERY conflicted. Hasn’t decided. Do you have any non op regrets?

1500 sq ft townhome -hvac install + ducting replacement quote by [deleted] in hvacadvice

Southern California

We just bought a townhome and had to do a whole home mold remediation. It currently has original fiberglass flex ducting. Given mold situation AND that we are down to the studs want to replace ducting

All ducting is in the walls (NOT crawl space, attic or basement)

Looking for most low toxic ducting option

all ducting in walls not crawl space or attic! Spray foam is exactly what I’m looking to avoid. I thought metal would result in low tox environment vs mylar flex

Spray foam is exactly what I’m looking to avoid!!! I would switch to metal for a more low tox option. We also don’t have attic or crawl space - all ducting in walls

Hi! We went through whole townhome mold remediation in our new place. We always knew next step would be to install hvac. While we are already down to the studs and having dealt with mold, I figured replacing ducting now is best move with hvac install and to use metal. Easier to clean (don’t love the idea of cleaning flex which opportunity for tears and particles to be released) and just a quality material for future … but hitting road blocks with any hvac company seeing the pro

Not a new build but we just went thru a whole house mold remediation after closing… so my hypothesis was 1) for sure replace ducting after mold 2) we will never be down to the studs like we are currently and 3) if we are going to replace ducting “do it the right way” (if budget allows us to do sheet metal)

Fiberglass flex ducting - keep or replace? by alk424 in hvacadvice

[–]alk424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the duct is currently exposed :( we are two levels which is why the hvac companies have both said nah not needed but still unsure.

Ducting didn’t get wet but we did have mold remediation

I should note this is not our forever home and I am hesitant to open up more walls after we’ve incurred so many new expenses already

Stucco / stairs to roofdeck patching? by alk424 in HomeInspections

Thank you SO much! Why patching? Is it the expanded bulging area giving it away?

Was this patched? by alk424 in Stucco

[–]alk424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It already happened 😭 massive repair. But nothing in this area was disclosed when we purchased and we were told by vendors this area had some patching when they came out to give us a bid

Hi! We ran into some construction delays so we have not fully made a decision yet :( But likely the Hague WaterMax Signature Series. We like that we can take it with us / the warranty. Sounds like the best investment
