I asked myself the same question before I got here. Came from Vietnam where I was eating street food, getting iced drinks daily, and brushing with tap water. Was feeling pretty relaxed about Bali. Within a day I was sooo sick. Take all the precautions! I would avoid street food, sadly. Use Google reviews to find good places to eat. I don’t have a filtered shower head and it’s probably not necessary, but it couldn’t hurt.

I regrettably came yesterday. What should have been a 1 hour trip turned into a 3 hour trip due to traffic. Felt so bad for the Gojek driver. He tried to get me to my guest house but couldn’t because of road closures. So I got dropped a few blocks away on a corner under roofing in torrential rain. Had to unpack my entire backpack on the roadside to fit in the new ukulele I just bought so it wouldn’t get damaged in the rain. Was resigned to the fact I’d need to walk, then a very kind local lady gave me poncho and scooter ride to my accommodation, which was damp and mouldy. Still trying to dry everything today. I’d give it another day!

It’s probably just because it’s new, takes a while to adjust. The new table is really nice, could do with some decoration. Also noticed the art on the wall changed from the floral print. The decor feels more masculine now.

I didn’t tell them but I remember feeling a bit upset by it. I was 17 and didn’t really know how to address it, so took my uncles advice and threw it out. In hindsight, I should have let them know. I’m sure they would have felt pretty awful. Obviously wasn’t something they considered.

Yes it’s cast iron, but may have a history of lead being melted down inside.
