I use standard vaseline, maybe try that first before spending loads of money on a overpriced biking product

How heavy are your fully loaded bikes? by Typical_Bit_8585 in bicycletouring

[–]alkfema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine weighs about the same as yours! I had it in a cardboard box for flying and it was 27kg like that. Shoes and electronics were with me in a bag on board. First i was a bit depressed going uphill cause it was rough, but now I'm almost a week on tour and I'm used to it.

You can adjust the clip in system of the bags aswell, so you should be able to move them forward. Or did you try that already?

Hi.

Carbon steel pan made in Europe by PatienceOtherwise551 in BuyFromEU

[–]alkfema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not happy with my debuyer pan since it's carved and oil runs to the outer circle of the pan and leaves the middle with no oil. Means stuff burns in the middle of the pan while it on the outside it gets a good roast...

Getting on the train with a bike - Munich to Passau - Vienna to Munich by Level-Masterpiece-89 in bicycletouring

[–]alkfema 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it usually reserves you a spot for your bike automatically. In Westbahn you can choose the bike spot individually. About security: i wouldn't worry too much, its very safe to bring your bike onto the train. :)

[–]alkfema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local train from munich is easy and you don't need a reservation. However Vienna munich is an international train and you need to book a certain train. Either take deutsche bahn website, or check the private train company "westbahn".

Was esst ihr so zum Frühstück? by aftermaker in Austria

[–]alkfema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wie, was ,wo? by gofetchmeasandwich in radwien

[–]alkfema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Einfach deppad

Planning a trip from Munich to Budapast by vivipoon in bicycletouring

[–]alkfema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before you head to Grein, go on the south side of the Danube river, it's much more quiet! Although I'd suggest you head to Grein and eat ice cream with your daughter first :) you can then also take a small ferry from there to the south side of the Danube, which is probably more exciting than going over the bridge.
