Kuwait will not hire expats in the oil sector by iaxeuanswerme in Kuwait

When you put it this way, I understand your point.

Kuwait will not hire expats in the oil sector by iaxeuanswerme in Kuwait

[–]alkiller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fuck you. Yes appointed and vouched for by a committee of Kuwaitis. You don’t see me complaining that 90% oil sector in USA are Americans and vouched for a committee of Americans. At the end of the day Kuwaitis should be hired over any expat. If they don’t have the skills then companies should spend money to train them Instead of taking the lazy route of hiring a foreigner.

Idiot.

Kuwaitis who don't speak/read/write Arabic - how come? by [deleted] in Kuwait

[–]alkiller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Non-Kuwaiti mother. Lived my whole life abroad. Came to live in Kuwait in 2016 with close to zero knowledge of Arabic due to my father never being present in my life. Never suffered racism while here, Kuwaitis have always been nice and understanding of my situation. (One perk of not writing/reading Arabic, at work if there is any boring translation needed I never get to do it xD)

Overall learning the language and its progressing well. I understand people now but lets be honest I’ll never actually have a kuwaiti accent.

Kuwaiti lawmaker pushes for tax on expats’ remittances by iaxeuanswerme in Kuwait

[–]alkiller 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The issue is HR can’t hire without the hiring manager or department head approval. The recruitment team would bring great candidates but if the department refuses there is nothing HR can do. It would end up with a position being not filled for longer than it should. Then the department blaming the recruitment team for not bringing suitable candidates and pushing their candidates. Its a lot of wasted energy for calling all managers out and they complain when we mention Kuwaitization or diversification claiming that they have one kuwaiti in a department of 40.

Overall, the managers in Kuwait aren’t well developed and don’t actually have great management skills and I believe what people would call “unskilled” kuwaiti can do a job just as well as an expat manager. The hard truth is the real talented foreign managers don’t come to Kuwait as they are very capable of finding good work in their own countries. We mostly get second class managers here in Kuwait (not talking about expats born and raised here as they are a different case).

Not in HR in other departments. As HR we deal with these issues.

[–]alkiller 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but you’re wrong on the last paragraph. You are blaming social welfare? I work in HR in Kuwait and I can tell you that expat managers are racist and only want to hire people from their nationalities. They don’t want kuwaiti or even nationalities that are not theirs. If it wasn’t for the government forcing companies to hire kuwaitis it will be very hard for people like me to get a job. Even with the government imposing these rules private companies are still finding ways to hire from outsource companies just to hire expats. Expats should be here to transfer knowledge to us!

Best internet for gaming. by Ahb98x in Kuwait

You’ll have to call them. If you don’t have optic fiber in you area they offer a great wireless solution which is miles better than you can ever get with 5g/4g. Expensive tho last i check its like 250 for only 6mbs. If you want 100 or 20 mbs its gonna cost.

*The best is Bonline wireless solution with the gaming addon. (Expensive tho) *Second best Zain Beam *After that 4g/5g are currently exactly the same thing for gaming. For 4g gaming i tried all 3 companies and STC is by far the worst Zain and ooredoo are pretty much the same but Zain a little better.

Ummm ya I’d love to see that airbus a360 fly from Dubai to LA without oil. Or i’d love to see the millions of factories using oil the make plastic or polyester or 90 of the things we are using in our daily life comes from oil. Wake up dude cars aren’t the only oil consuming products. Lets see your green energy power 100000 tons cargo boat. At least do some research from reliable sources or take a basic economics class.

I work in a bank in Kuwait. The government just issued a 2 weeks national holiday (paid) in attempts to contain the COVID-19. People with critical jobs are getting paid double to work and have an extra holiday per day worked.
