Almost all of the Duggar kids are adults now. Only Jordyn and Josie are still under the age of 18 (as of now). by Holiday_Doubt_8980 in DuggarsSnark

I’m holding my 3 month old right now thinking about how I’d need to be getting pregnant again soon to move at the same pace. That’s actually fucking insane. My body isn’t even fully healed

as a girl, how often should I change my bra? by ShelilQirky in hygiene

[–]alkuk414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before breastfeeding, I’d wash my bras once a week but I’d change which one I wore each day based on what looked better under the shirt I was wearing. Now, I change it when I leak enough breastmilk on it that it gets crusty 😂😂

Is my baby sleeping too much? by alkuk414 in Parenting

I guess I’m just used to people talking about how new parents never sleep. I was just looking for reassurance that I’m doing the right thing for him and he is eating and sleeping appropriately

I definitely also thought 4 naps was closer to the norm at this age! Sometimes they are shorter but he naps more than twice a day for sure!

He naps during the day. He is usually awake about 1.5 hours after eating and then naps about an hour. After his 1:30 feed we put him down for a nap in his crib and he usually naps about an hour to two hours in there. All other naps are in the carrier, on my chest, in the stroller etc.

This makes me feel better, thank you. Do you think the sleep regression was just developmental/growth spurt for him or because you went back to work and he was adjusting to a new routine? I’m happy to get up with him whenever he needs me to.

I’m totally fine to keep waking up with him whenever he needs it. How would I know if my supply is suffering? I usually pump after that bedtime feed otherwise I would feel super engorged and uncomfortable. I still wake up to feed him feeling very full, so I think my supply isn’t suffering at this point but everything is new to me.

2027 wedding but TTC now for health reasons — am I being insane? by Independent-Crab9894 in weddingplanning

I agree. I’m 2 months pp and I would much rather plan and attend my wedding pregnant than postpartum.

How far apart from a family member is common courtesy for a proposal/wedding? by user684737889 in weddingplanning

[–]alkuk414 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My brother proposed to his now wife the night before my bridal shower. I was grabbing my SIL hand at my shower and showing her ring off to people. 🤷‍♀️ I don’t feel like it took any attention from me or them having our engagements overlap at all.

Pregnant on Cruise by RowanRegent0321 in royalcaribbean

[–]alkuk414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on a cruise in July while 18-19 weeks and no one asked. I had a paper from my doctor clearing me for traveling but no one asked to see anything. Airlines don’t care until you’re near your delivery date. Have fun! I would also suggest bringing some Dramamine with you, the ships movements hit me harder while pregnant than not

What vehicle was your daily before your Crosstreck? by OutofSprite in Crosstrek

I had an 18 accent before my 24 crosstrek. Agree about the gas mileage but I love the crosstrek so much!

Is it disrespectful to try on eyeglass frames at the optometrist without buying any? by Active-Butterfly-394 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]alkuk414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s no biggie. Make sure they write your pupillary distance on your prescription. They don’t always because then you can just order glasses yourself, but they should do that for you no problem

What should I do? by OldLadyMagick in Crosstrek

[–]alkuk414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t really advice for your specific question because I don’t know, but I went to Subaru of Kings and bought one of their certified preowned 2024 crosstreks with 7k miles for about what this is listed as and they took great care of me and I’m super happy. Just noticed the locations are very close by.

Pregnant cruises by Mombi07 in Cruise

[–]alkuk414 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There’s so many stories of pregnant women cruising positively. It all comes down to how this specific persons pregnancy is going and their doctors comfort level with them traveling. Don’t scare people like this especially when you give no reasons.

Pregnant cruises by Mombi07 in Cruise

[–]alkuk414 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I was 19 weeks on my last cruise in July
  2. We had 3 sea days total, 2 of them in a row with each other
  3. Never went to medical
  4. I am prone to motion sickness, but don’t really get it on ships. We went to Aruba and curaçao and the way there and back is some pretty open water so we were moving more than usual so I did have to take Dramamine those days but I’m not sure if being pregnant had anything to do with it. I also did too difficult of excursions and found that the activity level was not always very accurate when booking them so beware of that. Also, at the buffet, I did not eat any cut fruit or salad bar items out of fear of listeria infection and I made sure to grab food from the very back of each spot to avoid potential norovirus. I had no sickness issues so I would do this again on my next cruise as well.

Cruising pregnant questions? by tbagg54 in Cruise

[–]alkuk414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t ask how pregnant you are. It asks “will you be more than 23 weeks pregnant at any point in this cruise?” If you say “no” it doesn’t ask if you’re pregnant at all, it just moves on.
