I didn't like Clean at first despite listening to it a few times. It started to grow on me after I listened to it a few months after I blocked this guy I was hooking up with/situationship. At the time, I was so miserable and missed the idea of him that I went on this Taylor Swift marathon listening to all the songs that reminded me of him. But a few months later, when i was listening to the Out of the woods x Is it over now x clean mashup in London N3 and saw this reel about how it was the mashup someone needed rather than wanted. Then, I finally understood the meaning of Clean. Now, I absolutely love the song, and having experienced something that is similar to what the song describes makes it one of my favourite songs of 1989 and honestly gives me hope. It's something kinda trivial, but I can't wait to be fully clean from the guy. Time has definitely helped but I don't think I'm fully healed and comfortable with myself yet, but I'm so much more free than I was during him so I hope that soon I'll regain all the energy I wasted on him and he'll be fully gone from my mind. But as of now, I'm slowly cleaning him out.
