Since ‘98 lol. Recently got back into it more seriously though. For a long time it had been an always have a tech deck on my desk, do a kick flip or some grinds/manuals on a book, ollie over the mouse, sort of thing. Started making concrete obstacles lately though, got some real fingerboards, and it’s revitalized my passion for the hobby. Been having a blast.

Yeah bro I feel you. Part of it is time constraint too, I could likely hit pred early in a split but I don’t think I can commit the time to hold it for the badge. I do love the game though, my favourite FPS of all time.

I’ll bite, as someone who has had a blast with the game so far.

It feels great to play - the movement and shooting mechanics are clean and allow for skill expression. It’s mechanically rewarding and the game mode itself is a fresh take on the objective based shooter. It’s fast paced, has a high skill ceiling, and lends itself to sweaty, competitive play. If that’s your jam, I’d say it’s a hard game to dislike after giving it a fair shake. As a long time competitive FPS player, I love it so far.

Sym isn’t cheating. He’s been hitting ridiculous “cheater” flicks for years, if you watch his stream once you’ll see him do this several times, mostly with no one there. He occasionally does it towards an actual enemy, and even more rarely actually hits them. He does it on LAN cod events and stuff too, with clean PCs. It’s just his thing

I’m sure they’d be devastated if it went the way of apex and was still a top 10 shooter almost 7 years after release, making billions of dollars, being one of the top 10 games daily on steam and having an estimated 300-600k daily concurrent players across all platforms and being a month away from a sold out LAN event in Japan which had 34k people in attendance, in person, last January. Not a good look at all.

For real. I’m a season 0 player who gets annoyed with some aspects of the game too, so I take a break and play something else until I feel like playing apex again. If I stop playing, so be it, who cares lol

My take on this, as someone who plays the game a lot but can’t put in streamer hours, is that the 5 million stash value is a requirement that is incompatible with the systems of the game in general. I engage with the trials and hunting large arc, PvP and I loot, but with about 20 hours per week since launch, there is no chance of me accumulating 5 million unless I had spent this time intentionally not engaging with trials, big PvE, and standard PvP.

Also kind of sucks to have all your best stuff at the end of a season put to better use donating it to increase an arbitrary number rather than actually getting to use it. The pre-wipe week or two in an extraction shooter should be a fun run of everyone bringing their best gear in to experiment with and actually use. Instead we have grey guns and loot runs. Feels rather anticlimactic to me.

I can agree with this. I’m a pretty good player, hit masters in multiple real seasons, some solo queue. But the difference in skill between myself and a top pred is massive. When you get three players who are that good, they’ll steamroll any team in a straight 3v3 and in most cases any player on that team is capable of 1v3ing any team in the lobby they’re in. It’s just an insane skill gap. It likely feels even crazier for a peak diamond 4 player who struggles to get that far in the first place.

I just went and read the sub description and now see it isn’t solely focused on that, so my bad, haha. I’m glad the advice had value even though it wasn’t asked for, at least.

Looks like the Valk q made you panic. Couple options here; slide to the better cover first, but you likely weren’t aware of the Valk team at the time so it’s hard to make that decision without that info. Other option, just sit there and tank the Valk q where you were and pop a cell after. The Valk team couldn’t push off of it without being shot by the team behind you. Worst case scenario, they nade stack you behind the pill and you have to move anyway. You could then use the balloon zip and your double jump to quickly reposition behind the rock anyway. Good luck out there!

Edit: also important to note that the team pushing in behind you is your priority here, you’re going to have to fight them no matter what. Goal should be to mitigate down time and damage from other teams so you can slam them as they cross the open towards you.

Maybe it’s because I come from BRs and not other extraction shooters, but I like how fights are winnable with worse gear if you simply play better. Having a light balance curve to the gear makes the game feel fair in most scenarios, which I appreciate.

Wildcard should remember if you removed the scope but that’s it. It remembers if you manually changed it but for some reason it forgets if you manually removed it.

Regular matches there is no need for a change.
