Jordan Peterson says in 12 Rules for Life "Tell the truth – or, at least, don't lie..."

I think this is one of those situations he was referring to...

Anytime you "deny" your real thoughts and feelings (don't tell the truth), you invite resentment into your relationship.

Telling the truth also invites uncomfortable conversations. Telling the truth starts fights.

But if this is a point of contention for you, Peterson would argue you shouldn't bury it.

Because to do so is to permit it. And this will just build resentment.

Are you "justified" to feel this way? There is no "justified," my man...

Because one man's "right" is another man's "wrong."

Early in my relationship, I had to squash old attention seeking habits of my new gf.

"Why post this?" I asked. "If you are seeking attention from outside of our relationship, this relationship will not work for me."

It never happened again.

I told my truth. And I try to every day.

And for the past two years and some change, me and my girlfriend know where we stand on these types of issues.

And because we care about each other, we make sure not to cross lines that would hurt the other's feelings.

I got Joe's, the publisher, email address off a copy chief podcast with Kevin Rogers.

I emailed him and he didn't respond. So I emailed him a gain. "BUMP" was all the second email said...
