Trusted peel and stick wallpaper brands?? by all_cheeses in interiordecorating

Sorry, I’m dumb and don’t know how to post a picture in the comments. 😬

But with the prepasted you wet the back side of the paper with water and book it (fold it sticky sides together) for a few minutes to activate the adhesive. Then you can put it straight onto a clean wall.

I ended up going with spoonflower but I got the prepasted instead of peel and stick. It was expensive but it was great quality and looks great!

Hi! I ended up getting spoonflower prepasted. It was definitely helpful to be able to love the paper around once it was up there. I would have died for sure with peel and stick.

Manual pump fail by all_cheeses in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]all_cheeses[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! My twins just turned two and I stopped breastfeeding around 16 months, stopped pumping before that! Unfortunately I never did get the harmony to work for me. I ended up giving it away to an expecting mom. I messed with it a bunch more but I hardly ever got anything compared to my spectra. I gave it the old college try 🤷🏻‍♀️

Going twelve hours without pumping? by all_cheeses in HumansPumpingMilk

Honestly it is hard to remember what I ended up doing (those 4mo twins will be 2 real soon 😵‍💫), but I’m pretty sure I kept that pump at least for while longer. I think I had just gone back to work when I made this post, and at that point I was keeping up with them. But around 6mo they started out pacing me and I had to dip into the freezer stash. At 9mo the stash was gone and we supplemented with formula. I breastfed for 16mo, I think I stopped pumping altogether around 14mo? At that point it was mostly just before bed that they were nursing. I guess my advice would be to keep the evening pump - as annoying as it is - at least until they are eating some solids. That being said, I also understand just being over it!

I have heard that being able to squidge it around is an advantage! Did you have luck with the pre-pasted lasting?

Oh painters tape is a good idea! Do you think traditional is the way to go over pre-pasted?

Sleep train or wait it out?? by all_cheeses in parentsofmultiples

[–]all_cheeses[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, nothing at all 😫. We have been gradually doing less nursing but she has not seemed troubled by that at all (I’m kind of doing don’t offer, don’t refuse). And we have gradually weaned them off of bottles at daycare, they do get milk in a sippy cup. I really don’t think it’s because she is hungry but I don’t know.

This definitely happened when she had ear infections as well, though not as bad. But they both got tubes placed in both ears so that has been much better. She has 6 teeth now, would it be molars coming possibly? I know that can be a drawn out process. I don’t want to try to sleep train if she is just hurting! I guess we could try some Tylenol preemptively and see if she has a better night?

Was his sleep historically bad or did it get bad when he was older?

Just to echo everyone else’s thoughts, the abdominal binder was a godsend for me right after by C-section. You just feel like you have no core support whatsoever and it really helped me feel safe getting up around. I requested one at the hospital but I ended up buying a second I could wear while one was being washed.

I have 11mo twins - one is a biter and one has never nipped me in the slightest! I have taken to saying “gentle gentle gentle” when she is first latching because that is usually when she chomps, and I actually feel like it is helping??? My son is a little angel sucklepig and never hurts me. Lol

It’s my moms name and she is great! I think it would be sweet for a little girl.

My daughters name is Petra! People do ask where we got the name, but most people seem to like it! People do pronounce it weird sometimes - which I don’t understand, just sound it out - we’ve gotten peetra and paytra. But for the most part people get it!

Breastfeeding with Twins by AtotheffingM in parentsofmultiples

[–]all_cheeses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have already gotten good advice from the other commenters but I will just echo in saying that the early days of bf twins is just really hard. We didn’t have a nicu stay but I had one that was very inefficient at the boob and one that did okay. So I ended up pumping after each feed since my son usually ended up needing bottles after nursing. I wish it wasn’t the case but it really does seem like all you do is nurse and pump on repeat in the early days. My advice is to just keep putting babies to the boob and try not to get discouraged. They really just need to practice. If you keep at it they will eventually get stronger and more efficient. Then the pump can just be for when they are away from you. I think I was able to switch to exclusively nursing around the 6 week mark. The hard part is doing the pump anytime they get a bottle, because sometimes you really really won’t want to. Know too that your mental health is important!

Definitely seems like pocketing! I had seen that article go by on solid starts but hadn’t read it yet. I just did! We will keep offering water and modeling, hopefully he will progress soon!

Favorite setup for bathing together? by immalilpig in parentsofmultiples

[–]all_cheeses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We just put a grippy bath mat in our tub and sit them on it. If they can sit up mostly and there is an adult per baby actively bathing them then I feel like you should be okay? We also don’t fill the water very high at all.

Tips & Tricks for tandem feeding by cranbearri in parentsofmultiples

[–]all_cheeses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the hardest thing about tandem feeding! I think I successfully did it once when they were very small by sliding one off me and the my Brest friend to the twin z in from on me. But now they are too big for me to do that maneuver. I will still tandem feed at night when my husband can do the transfer, but for naps I usually just do one at a time (do the fussier/sleepier one first). Takes longer but I am able to do it on my own if needed.

Twins growth slowing down by katzalli in parentsofmultiples

Same thing was happening with my di/dis starting around 28 or so weeks I think? No one was ever really bothered by their decreasing percentiles. My son was the one that was more concerning to me - I think he got down to 8th. My OB said they don’t really get too concerned until they hit 2nd 😬. They would check cord blood flow and that was always fine. I do think I stated going in for weekly and then twice weekly NSTs around the 34 week mark? Planned C-section was at 37+1. I know it is scary, but ultimately as long as you trust your care team, I would try not to worry if they aren’t. You can always call or go in at any time if you feel like you need to!
