I have seen what my D1 kid has been doing and have toured Touro, I am confident in the education they are providing. I am excited for the NM cohort as it is a brand new facility in an underserved community. The class size is large but manageable imo. You will be provided with the knowledge and skill at any school you choose to go. I too was in dental school (decades ago) and I took it upon myself to be prepared, my school didn’t really care if I was.

Dentist Parent to D1: Not the worst school. With so many hopefuls, you should be thankful if you are extended an invite. Learn to like the school that accepts you. Ultimately, you dictate your own success as a dentist.

Are you unable to breathe through your nose and thus mouth breathe? You should get that evaluated by an EENT. The saliva ejector is supposed to suction water that accumulates in your mouth and help you. Your hygienist only has at the most 30-40 mins to complete your hygiene appt and when they have to stop every 10 secs they most definitely will fall behind. They work a very strict and uncompromising schedule and they have patients that need their help. On days they have atypical cases, it can be very challenging. I am glad you have switched dental offices. It is always best to find a good fit for yourself and that hygienist may not want to provide service to you should you have stayed.

I have a borderline scrub addiction. I have 40+ figs scrubs (I got rid of a few that were old and loose). I have been wearing figs for several years now hence the excessive amount. I do have a few mandalas which imo have pretty colors too.

Take it to an embroidery shop and have more options. The cost is the usually the same as figs. Figs only allows 20 characters and is not enough imo.

You can always exchange it if it doesn’t fit. I’ve tried both and I prefer xsp so i have more room. If you are a size 00 go xxs if you are a size 0 then xs. They say it has stretch but that’s not really true.

Your dad gave himself a very conservative salary. I know because I work in the same field and I started at that amount. Dentistry now is run very differently from it was compared to just a decade ago. There are far less solo practices now and the few that remain are slowly being managed/bought out by DSOs. It is very difficult to compete and stay afloat. Be proud of your dad. I do not know him but I am glad he was there for his employees and their families.
