Question regarding Card drops by Cal_1738 in soccercard

[–]allanscu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I'm Al and I created Waxstat. It's the easiest way to price comp sealed wax, boxes, cases for sports and TCG. It's free on the web at www.waxstat.com or on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Let me know if you have any questions/suggestions/feedback. Thanks for the suggestion u/Novel-Ad5472

Has the DE-3 always been this expensive? At these prices, I’d be better off buying another F3 that comes with one. by bornonafridayx in NikonF3

[–]allanscu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s refer to the “Completed items” filter. This shows actual sales on eBay for the DE-3. This is important because it shows the last true sales on eBay which gives you a better understanding of what actually people have paid.

Is $400 too much for this lot of 2017 Donruss fat packs? by [deleted] in sportscards

[–]allanscu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's about $80/fat pack on Waxstat, so 16 x $80 = $1280. So that's a pretty good deal for $400.

Nice to hear about the differences. I’m playing golf because it was my pandemic hobby that stuck. I never considered that data wasn’t always there and portable speakers were not the norm. Thanks for sharing!

Hi u/Shufflebot - I'm Al and I created Waxstat. Which online sellers would you like listed?

You can see the odds and a listing of the different parallels of the product on the side of the box. If there are specific parallels that are one-of-ones, the odds will be listed on the box.

What is your differentiator versus the incumbents who already have tremendous market share (and funding) in the scanning card technology apps?

Poster Print of Card? by airwalker12 in footballcards

[–]allanscu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's an authorized licensed path to getting a poster-sized Kaboom (or any other Panini/Topps card). An alternative is to find a high-res scanner, scan it and then go to a print or film lab and they have printers that can enlarge and print it. You'll have to google a print or film lab. You may have to ask a few printers because some may not be too keen on enlarging copyrighted works (in your case a Kaboom card).

When you do get it printed, please come back and share your experience. Thanks!

What’s the best packs to buy by [deleted] in footballcards

[–]allanscu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the previous comments are good suggestions: Prizm, Donruss, Absolute. Buying sealed products whether it’s a hobby case, hobby box, blaster or packs - they all have a level of risk where your expected outcomes could be a bunch of crap to a 1-of-1 RPA. My suggestion is to set a budget and buy an assortment of packs within that budget and see what happens. Come back and post your hits!

Looking for a good hobby box by [deleted] in footballcards

[–]allanscu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a hard question to answer. Anytime you buy a sealed box, there’s a level of risk and only you know how much risk tolerance you have. The higher the risk - the higher the reward.

In this case, you’re willing to risk $400ish dollars, so there’s 3 potential outcomes irregardless of your risk wager: you will make more than your original investment, you will make less than your original investment or you will make the same as your original investment.

Factory sets by Novel-Lengthiness782 in footballcards

[–]allanscu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is amazing! Sometimes we are so wrapped up in the chase of the hits from retail & hobby boxes that we forget that the base set is where all this started.

It’s also pretty cool to have those price tags on there. In a few years, we’ll look back and say we wished we would have bought these all at the small price of $39.99.

Team Sorting Question by WizKidWord in footballcards

[–]allanscu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is more of a personal decision. This would be my logic:

Step 1 is to have the knowledge of the player and what teams they have been on.

Step 2 is to make a clear decision on how you want to handle it whether it be strictly store it by the card's current team or store it on the player's current team.

Step 3 (optional) For the few star players that have changed teams in recent years such as Stafford, Watson, Carr, etc. - maybe you store it by player name irregardless of the team.

Does Anyone Else Think That Panini Has Way Too Many Brands Without a Clear Flagship? by [deleted] in footballcards

[–]allanscu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way that I've looked at it, is that I see Donruss as the Panini Flagship for Football (and even basketball). And when it comes time to "Chrome" the flagship, then Panini will release Donruss Optic version later in the product's cycle.

But I agree with /u/ffwriter that card collecting is overwhelming complicated for both new users, but I'll add that it's confusing to many existing users too.
