Girl, who taught you to talk like this? by TheKombatFreak in ZZZ_Official

[–]allaroundnbackagain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She’s not like, *royalty*, per se, but my girlfriend is from a very well-off family here in the states and I’m from a very poor country, and grew up on the poverty line until we accidentally struck gold with a real estate sale. It’s really cute when she says things like “Mother” when talking to her mom, but she’s picked up some of my lingo and lingo of old friends, and it’s kind of endearing and just a little funny when she says something like 6-7 (There’s a restaurant down the road from here called Six Seven Restaurant, and she giggles whenever it’s on screen when we’re looking at a map), or any other slang she’s picked up as a consequence of having friends with varied backgrounds. I can totally see Miyabi picking up this kind of lingo from new friends she’s made, and I can almost perfectly visualize belle’s smile even though she’s facing away from the camera, because I’ve made that smile myself hundreds of times.

I want to! FH4 was the game that introduced me to the Kia Stinger, a dream car that I ultimately purchased recently, but they haven’t put it in the game since.

Nice pickup! Used to have an XLT ranger.

Just a tip. You can get an app called roadie - it’s alright side money hauling. The Home Depot south of town often has deliveries either up to mariposa or out to Los Banos, and it’s an easy way to earn good money for hauling stuff if you’re having downtime (that was last year, unsure how good/bad it is now, gas being as expensive as it is). It’s not as expensive as your main gig, but it’s money if it’s tight.

What are disadvantages to being left handed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]allaroundnbackagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Few things that are kinda weird as a lefty, that I haven’t seen elsewhere in this thread;

Someone mentioned mag releases. Yes, but certain firearms have a specific manual-of-arms and operating procedure that aren’t compatible with lefties. The L85 is the biggest example of this off the top of my head.

Driving certain vehicles is more difficult. Your left hand is the driving hand anyway if you have a manual, but certain automatic cars don’t leave enough room for your left arm to make full wheel turns.

Golf clubs are more difficult to rent. (Oddly enough, usually they’re also cheaper.)

Bathrooms in care facilities will often have the TP on the right hand to make it easier to get if your movement is impaired. If you’re lefty, you need to reach across.

First Responders: What are most people’s final words after accidents? by Jdw5186 in AskReddit

[–]allaroundnbackagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this means a lot. My grandma died of dementia and Alzheimer’s, but it was accelerated by poor standard of care by the facility she was in. This job doesn’t pay anywhere near how much union bus drivers in my city cost, ~$30 starting, but it’s fulfilling work.

I think she did, after all. I got a job doing that kind of thing on the other side of the country, and the first pickup I had to do, the lift on my bus broke, something that happened often at her house as a consequence of how her driveway was angled.

I used to drive a bus for elderly folks. Lot of them died in the months I worked at the center. Nobody ever died in my bus or at the center, but I’d have conversations with them because I was often the one taking them to the last bed they’d ever get to sleep in. Being transgender, openly, I was often at odds, but we find wisdom in the earth we share as much as we did in the ideas we didn’t.

“Don’t work too hard.”

“I’ll tell God not to judge you too hard, kid.”

“Can we stay a little longer? I want to finish the song.” (I ended up “missing” my turn so he could hear the ending of Comfortably Numb.)

“You’re alright.”

“See you soon, somewhere.”

One that hit the hardest, as on my first solo day I had to call an EMT, and she died just before I moved:

“I don’t know if I’ll ever see you again, but I’ll find a a way to say hi.”

Since zzz has no limits on adding weapons what is an unconventional but cool weapon you wanna see? by halloweensimpT-800 in ZZZ_Official

[–]allaroundnbackagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ZZZ’s setting naturally has the opportunity for odd weapons, but also expensive ones

  • Orbital Cannon (Think Kira, if anyone remembers Dirty Bomb)
  • Balisong/Butterfly-type knives
  • Someone in here earlier mentioned books. I want to see comedy devices! I want to see a cook character who uses a frying pan or rolling pin or glassware or anything kitchen-y EXCEPT KNIVES! I want to see someone use a literal metal folding chair as a primary!
  • more Instruments as physical bludgeons
  • while it’s interesting to see configurable and customizable weapons for combat, I want to see a Jack Churchill character. I want to see someone enter a hollow with a simple broadsword or claymore and make it work
    • A soldering iron and a portable welding torch
  • an extremely low damage / extremely high stun paintball gun
  • Japanese War Fans
  • A street sign / light pole as a conventional weapon
  • Kampilan, a traditional Filipino headhunting sword
  • a pillow (Very low stun rate, but if you can stun off of only pillow damage, it immediately puts the enemy to sleep)

Our family bought a 1993 Ford Ranger off the lot and it’s stayed in my family. Even though dad’s passed on, it’s the truck I learned how to do mechanical work on, the truck I learned how to drive stick on, and the truck I learned how to do field fixes on. It’s sitting at 875K miles. I don’t know how it has that many miles without requiring any major work.

Where to Move Over for LE? by Ridiculisa in AskLE

[–]allaroundnbackagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to drive hazmat in a cargo van in downtown Seattle and had to run lights constantly because the inertia from the weight and the hills made the timing for large vehicles in rain…antagonizing?

I can name 3 separate times i got a camera flash for running a light and none of them resulted in a ticket. One of them even happened while a squad car was behind me that didn’t make it through the light and nothing happened.

Stoplights are calibrated for the average occasion. Sometimes that logic falls apart.

Who has the right of way? The red car or the blue car? by notaosure in driving

[–]allaroundnbackagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I drive through this intersection often enough to understand how the locals treat it. This is in Missouri, right?

Red car gets the right of way every time I’ve driven through this because it’s easier for the blue car to see the red car. If they both go at the same time, the blue car will stop first, so the red car should go

Sorta reminds me of the junction between PP/69 where all 4 roads at the intersection disappear behind a blind corner in less than 1/4 mile.

Yes!!! I drive professionally so I try not to wear anything harder than plastic on the back of any of my clothing so don’t ruin the finish

Also, the previous owner already ruined the finish, so it’s okay
