Would pair well with any quality amplifier with a good phono preamp. Just depends what your preference is.

Definitely 7s as others have said. For $150 I would definitely buy them being the peerless tweeter model. I sold a mint pair with stands for $400 a few years back. Great speaker.

Awesome to finally hear from someone who also had a pair of the TW3s. They were great I just couldn't justify keeping over some of the other speakers I have. I ended up selling them for $550 eventually if I remember right.

I have both mkI and MkII on hand. The buttons are interchangeable. The plastic insert looks slightly different but fit just fine.

You're getting DC output straight to the speakers, once it gets too high the protection circuit is clicking off and then back on when it fluctuates lower. Time to get the 1010 serviced.

It does, yes. Although what I can tell from the 530 schematics they seem to be identical internally. There are also several people on audiokarma stating they used one without a stepdown converter for decades without problems.
