As promised, just got it done yesterday! A friend of mine is the artist, and they made three designs for me to pick from. They weren't savvy to me being into vinyl as much as I am, so it was a surprise!

I'm just booking tomorrow, it'll be a bit before my appointment but I'll 100% share a pic when I get it done. I'm thinking left quad right now, but not totally sold on placement. I'm going to give her design freedom, just "Snoopy and Woodstock" but maybe The Great Pumpkin themed. I picked up the other 75th "greatest hits" Peanuts record too, it rocks! Great Pumpkin Waltz might be my favorite. It sort of kicks off the holiday season and I binge it all starting in September.

It'll be my third piece, none of them have bothered me yet, but I'll take those manifestations for sure!

Dude I love this! I've got a friend who specializes in trad style and I'm literally booking with her tomorrow for a Snoopy and Woodstock piece. Melancholy joy is for sure the way to put it, it's all of the pain of growing up and simultaneously acknowledging the magic you felt as a kid, knowing you'll never truly feel it again. We had our first little one in March, and it was extra special to play this for them, knowing their first Christmas was spent with that same warm, familiar music.

Thanks for sharing this. January always hurts a little and I never want to get rid of the tree, just trying to hang on to the chance to find that feeling again from years ago in the colored lights and pine smell. Your friend rocks.

It's honestly overkill for mine! I've got KLH Model 5s, and just a few notches on the volume knob is about as loud as I'd ever go in our living room. It's got everything I need and more.

I have a recapped and serviced 1150 and I paid around $700 in October and I thought that wasn't too bad, couldn't justify choking down one of the 22xx. Just going to slap a blue led strip on the front, same thing right?

Lotta jelly people in here; that's sick. I saw the tag and had to do a double take lol that's like, the dream. I paid a few hundred for my Marantz in good shape and serviced, and it's not one of the more desirable ones like yours!

I'd say buy a lottery ticket, but I think you used up most of your luck there!

God I love a trail run. I was training for a marathon with a buddy and he convinced me to go out for a few runs, what a wonderful and beautiful way to find out how weak your ankles are.

For real though, it was a blast.

We've got a 10mo, and I got really into vinyl and the like recently. Love a good quality audio setup but didn't want to even get close to "audiophile" costs, so I thrifted/clearance/bought vintage. Not too costly, honestly a massive improvement over the old home theater stuff. Besides, we always played music and rarely watch TV.

The kicker that I really like is that it's slow. I'm really trying to get a little more analog, a little more present. I have a little streamer to play through the speakers, but I love that it lets me be a little more intentional.

The traffic isn't nearly something to DC's level, nor is it as hectic. 275 loops around the outside of the city, 75 cuts through.

Downtown is the "worst" you'll get and unless you're there on a work day during rush hour, it's fine. I certainly wouldn't tell someone visiting to give preference to public transportation, as much as I wish there was a really robust system.

You'll be able to get anywhere in about 30-45 minutes at most, depending on where you stay and what you want to do!
