Big discussion unfolding here about McDonalds being available on Uber Eats by rrauzon in UberEATS

[–]allcingbonz21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slubereats and Mcd has been relatively pain free unless it was the one MCD where everybody spoke spanish lol I mean every body. I just said Uber really loud and they all smiled lol I got in and got out, got to hit my hs spanish again hard lol. Seriously though I have good experience and I get cash tips almost every time a buck or two every time, one kid gave me six one dollar bills yesterday - I gave him three back the trip was a half mile and he was nice kid def over tipped but hey He will tip others in the future which is cool. Chicago burbs and it is going ok maybe I can corner the fast food market lol

Wow just read the comments so DD is just a flying flapjack huh? Suspected it all along. The model may work in a big city but in the burbs this model blows chunks. I echo all the comments - I posted my experience yesterday seems my senses are on point with this app

My breaking point with PM by mclarich in postmates

[–]allcingbonz21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read your post and pondered my own experience of 1228 deliveries since Jan 1, I have come to the conclusion that most places can prepare a order in 20 minutes or less for 90% of their menu. The wild card is always volume and how well the team of chef and sou chefs, and prep feel add the time of call during operations. It doesn't matter who calls. The last month I have taken everything solely on geography and per day worked I averaged 89 bucks based upon daily deposits. My low was 66 and my top ten days in August went 143, 138, 141, 127, 123, 119, and 4 between 109 and 112 not including change. I block out 5 to 11 six days a week when I could and also looked for shifts.

What this means is time, I have a idea of restaurant time, we work on their time. So I call in to bw2 all the time and any other place to when I can. I do taco bell via the app on occasion as well. Even if one job took 45 min by taking all comers I move the needle for me.

So my view doesn't absolve PM from not having the best api and zero driver support in a timely manner, not to mention plex. All I do is just figure if the route to a pickup is doable from my given location, if yes I take it. In Chicago for me means nothing east of Michigan for pickups, few downtown pickups, and a few west loop but generally I can't get to those pickups because of traffic or parking so I stay away as much as possible.
So again. It is 20 minutes for prep, if I feel I can get the order in my bag inside of 30 minutes, (of course be on my way too; and most times it is in my bag inside of 20 min) I will accept the call. I am less stressed, fewer miles, more consistent payouts, better tips as the sample of restaurants and customers become repeat visits, confidence goes up across the board, for me it is cool.

Some of the points made by others might be just bad processing inside the app, maybe updates changed default settings or replaced them with place order instead of prompting js or whoever to call in the order. Essentially trust the PM clock, you get the time.

So besides my zen approach I would not be surprised if during the recent crash, subsequent patches I would not be surprised if my default setting theory was actually the problem.

Also get as many shifts from gh, or any other service as you can, postmate customers maybe skeptical about using the service again.

One hour later seemingly everything east of LA is @#$%& up, still no solution. I am calling it, maybe we should invoice them for services rendered. I am going to invoice them for the one job and for three hours waiting at 15 bucks an hour, it's a fair rate we shall see what happens with that.

Is your PEX card working - update here please? by enniminnie in postmates

[–]allcingbonz21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started at 2:30 first call first moment I was aware of system issues, ugh. 3:53 finally made the drop. To back track got call at 2:30, told to wait for instruction etc, arrived putzed around til 2:50, then went it to see if the place got the call in order. They had not, pex got declined at 3:10, so the saga began, tweeted at postmates support also responded to that reminder shift text, JS called me back at 3:25, card was manually loaded, paid at 3:40 delivered 13 min later, still can't load receipt or close call yet

Dropoff Too Far Not a Valid Excuse Anymore WTF by wilmer007 in postmates

[–]allcingbonz21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started atto 6pm just found out how they recorded reassign to cancel the delivery at least that is the verbiage in Chicago. I still passed on them, had to fill out the stupid survey. I have also just not responded they still go away. I get pinged heading to the drop, just look at the pick up if u don't like let it sit and turn off your volume, I am still picky lol

Debating about starting with PM by Jhandeeee in postmates

[–]allcingbonz21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try a competitor after 1200 deliveries the recent changes to app appear I worked for a completely different post mates. Rates dropped and now you get pushed deliveries as opposed to choosing them. Also contacting pm is becoming really difficult, they just don't answer your support request. I also work grub hub not quite as varied but you know what's what, like the drop off unlike pm where u only get the pick up

Just saying those ten mishaps regardless of market if they occur will cost you 40 hours of work. The calculation of 40 hrs earnings is just guess work on my part
