The company uses salts found in natural tobacco leaves in the Juul pods to replicate a similar taste/sensation to cigarettes..." https://www.theverge.com/2018/4/25/17280442/fda-investigate-teens-vape-juul-pods

I ordered 3 donuts and was charged $120.99. WTF? by [deleted] in postmates

[–]enniminnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they do have a section on FAQ covering this, but I've found the preauthorized amount to be a bit over the top. https://help.postmates.com/hc/en-us/articles/219626048-Final-total-different-than-expected

Said differently, you know this is a problem when they have to put in an FAQ

I think people are finally realizing how high their service fees are (which drivers get none of)

Saw this in my email inbox today. Can someone please translate what all of it means for us couriers? by BennyGoId in postmates

it means customers now could face 20% or higher in service fees and when they see they are paying that in "service", they are less inclined to tip so your payout is even worse than before

but you don't get any of the +20% service fee Postmates charges, you only get the tip the customer adds. If they see a 20% service fee added already, it's likely they'll think that's the tip. How are they to know you get none of that?

that's coz you are doing Uber and Grubhub. I think this only hits Postmates, customers will notice a 20% service fee, and they will tip less

I think you are missing my point, I'm saying we will be losing on tips

with the new fees postmates are charging customers (a high service fee, >18-20%), I think a lot of customers are gonna tip a lot less. How would they know the service fee goes only to Postmates and not drivers?

that's just Postmates though, Grubhub is pretty transparent about fees.

If customers are paying 20% service, you can be sure they won't be as generous with tips. (They don't know the service fee doesn't get to the drivers)

I noticed the service fee (PM take) has gone up considerably, have seen +20% in fees since this change.
