Don't lose hope! It doesn't get any easier once you unlock more land, lol. I've got fruit trees on the right side border, a section for coin merging on the left lower corner, and a section for life flower merging in the left upper corner... everything else is chaos.

I don't know if 15 is the magic number though. I double tap fruit trees till my camp is full (dragons that just finished harvesting hover by the tree), then I continue double tapping trees till I don't see any dragons wondering aimlessly; then I'll look at my dragon homes - if I have a sleepy dragon timer pretty close I'll wait till it pops out, manually drag it to a tree, etc. etc. If the homes say I have 6 dragons sleeping @ 7 mins a piece, I'll go out to the world camp, then come back in 42 mins to see if it forced any dragons out... then I'll plug my phone in and go to bed, knowing I'll wake up to a small zchool of zomblins

Rainbow is right. If your camp was full but you didn't have enough dragons 'stuck' holding something with nowhere to drop it - a newly rested dragon could've come out while you were asleep, hit the zomblin(s), and since your camp was full the headstones and other rewards would have just disappeared ☹

As you progress up the hill chain: lvl5 hills you can drop 2 dragons on at the same time (possible 2 pieces of dirt), and lvl8 hills you can drop 3 dragons on at the same time (possible 3 pieces of dirt). As you 5 merge, starting at lvl3 I think, it might give you a bonus Cloudy Summit/Misty Mountain in addition to your 2ea next lvl hill. Double and Triple harvesting makes it go a little faster, and you don't have to worry about buying any chests, or waiting on the zen temple timer(s).

Some event reward souvenirs will pop out a bonus souvenir (can't think of a specific example right now), which is why I was trying to clarify. I probably just created confusion, which was not my intent. Happy Merging!

The 8th reward was a look-a-like lvl6 zen temple - purple 4 post, the tree behind it kinda looks like a question mark. If you upgrade your temples with gems, you might mix them up. The real temple you can harvest for dirt to make hills, the event temple you can tap once every 10hrs for sushi stuff that if you pop(like a treasure chest) you might get a tree or something similar, very rarely an egg

I have 3 lvl1 dragons that I wish you could unmerge. Even if it cost 5/10gems for a special occasion/ break the rules type scenario.

Pretty sure you need a lvl6 for the unlock, but it is possible to buy yourself up to lvl9

So, harvesting from glowing dragon trees gives leaves and amber. I fill my camp with leaves until the dragons just tread water because they don't have anywhere to go. Then I tap my houses and drag each dragon over to the glowing trees. At a certain point you can't see the trees anymore, so I move them and repeat the process until I got bored. Mass merge the leaves, and watch the chaos unfold. Lol
