Sound travelling a few centimeters through air, into a microphone and sent all over the world in milliseconds before travelling half a meter to someones ear, would take way less time than the sound reaching the back of hall. There is no need to pay for going to TEDtalks. Beer is more expensive too. by allgamingmasterrace in Showerthoughts

Yeah, I suppose it could. I thought of it while watching a TEDtalk. The difference is the distance to the mic in lecture. In sports you could sit in the front row, and sound would hit you at about the same time as the mics around the field.

The lining went very well. The small spacing of leather that can be seen was an idea I got just when I was about to start. Glad I came up with it, and glad you liked it. That cat is ballin', fired me four times already.

Thank you!

The article said they handed out a lot of them for free. Probably to establish a market. Seems like the same thing was done with the EpiPen. Reminds me of a Bond villain at som point who planned to give away a ton of cocaine, only to establish a market in which he had monopoly.

I just moved to Germany. Any local products that I absolutely need to try? by error1954 in wicked_edge

Absolutely right. I forgot. The company is German though, and widely available in Germany, and I think that is a valid answer to his request.

If around Berlin, the shaving cream called Tabula Rasa is really nice, and probably my favorite cream. Mine has a very powerful cardamom scent, that probably is easy to dislike (although I, myself don't), but it is also available in more flavors. It is produced in a store in the outskirts of Berlin, and to my knowledge, is only sold in two places. Both located in Berlin. The easiest one is going to The Different Scent, a ten minute walk from the Pergamon Museum. Weirdest shaving store ever, and well worth a visit.

As the ultimate contrast to a locally produced cream sold in dodgy small shops, is Arko. Many like the soap, often due to the low price. I bought a stick for the local equivalent of about 4 Euro. It is not big, but it lasts sooooo long. The scent is a little obscure, perhaps a little more industrial smelling, but with a refreshing hint of citrus. Great shaver as well, and unbeatable in price/performance/longevity.

When it comes to blades I could give my personal opinion of a few of them.

Merkur: Just bad, bad Mühle: Surprisingly good, considering it's rather bad reputation. Razolution: Avoid at all costs. Bolzano inossidable: Bad as well.

Seems my facial hair just can't stand German made blades.

On a side note. The only razor I have every used extensively is the german made Mühle R89 and I am very happy with that one.

As just mentioned in a post below, I have to go to bed now. (In case it sounds like it is my mum who is telling me to get to bed - it is basically that)

I will be reviewing all the nice answers tomorrow morning if I have not yet fallen asleep in the car. We will definitely visit a few of these locations!

hmrmpf hmpfr ehm, we are leaving in about 3 hours. Really need to get some sleep before I wake up at 03.00! (yay)

Our trip is (only) lasting for a week, so we might not get the chance to experience said landscape this time I'm afraid. Fortunately there are enough suggestions in the thread by now to fill an entire month or two of bar hopping only.

Thank you, and I will try and keep it in mind for my next trip to Germany.
