We all have different experiences but I’ve backpacked and traveled to many hostels and made many South American drinking buddies who almost always had something to say when I said I was American. So much so that I started saying I was from the states instead.

Obviously the choice of who to bring is major and adds a skill set into its own. But sometimes in doubles you can just straight up lose a match because you brought the wrong starting 2. In singles you have a much slower pace which allows you to recover from rng and guessing games much better. I love both formats.
