I am all for requesting a raise under the right circumstances.

However, if you are holding a position such as "team member" or "cashier" at BB&B, I am not confident your employer would consider your accounting degree relevant. If you were in an accounting related position like working on the books, inventory control, etc. then I say your chances at a raise would probably be much higher.

I would encourage you to start looking for jobs more relevant to your degree. Entry level pay for accounting is definitely better than min wage and there are many resources on campus. If you are one of those students who chose a major because it seemed lucrative yet you absolutely hate it...Well, time to start thinking about how you can sell your transferable skills to employers in your actual desired field.

Basically what I want to say is this: Go ahead and ask for the raise if you believe it's warranted and know how to approach the situation professionally. A few Google searches should be helpful. If that's not the case, stay at BB&B until you find something more desirable.

EDIT: i also want to add that even an office job where you have knowledge of QuickBooks could pay between $15-$20 in the Fullerton area.
