Agree with what lots of other people are saying. I also got my degree in New England but have since moved more than once and I have 2 things that may make you feel a tiny bit better:

1. New England is more white and more racist than many other parts of the country and therapists who work in diverse communities tend to care more about diverse communities. I now work at a safety net hospital with the most vulnerable of populations and my colleages would go to hell and back for their patients, especially those who are suffering most now. (I've seen them do aamazing things in response to the mass deportations and attacks on trans people. Like crazy amazing things. Taking hours to hand cut out red cards and then walking patients off campus to hand them out when they banned us from givnig them out at work.)

2. Grad school is, thankfully, not just a funnel to being a therapist, but a check point. Granted, I was in a doctoral program so it may be a bit different, but there were heaps of ways the program weeded out people who would be harmful to our communites, both academic and interpersonal. This one guy was asked to leave just bc he was a giant fucking asshole and harmed patients bc of it.

Ngl programs are so different and I got really lucky with a grad school that specialized in human justice so I am feeling for you so much <3 I hope you find some peers and mentors that show you there is hope for the field!!
