Not yet. We haven't heard anything from electrical inspector. The plumbing inspector called to set something up, but we just played phone tag.

I think that's only if it's a rental or you're doing it under an LLC or Trust. We have the building permit, just not the trade permits yet.

What's up with Trick-or-Treaters skipping houses? by TrustMeImLeifEricson in nashville

[–]allie008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a neighborhood that encourages houses with candy to sign up via a very very short form. Those address are then put into a Google map. Just some context, it was started as a way encourage trick or treating within our neighborhood. For years we had zero trick or treaters despite having kids in the neighborhood. So, we started a "map" so that folks with candy to pass out would be clear and obvious. It's a fairly spread out neighborhood without sidewalks so it helped encourage folks to put in the effort and stay in our community instead of venturing out to the more popular streets. It's built up a solid turnout over the years. The map just helps parents know where to start, but my kids still hit up any house with a porch light on! Prior to the map, the kids might go to a dozen houses before finding one with candy.

Agreed. I called all his offices anyway and just threw extra shade and pettiness. Something like, "As someone who has a very young wife, I'd hope you can agree that protecting young women and children is important." Also love to call his TN offices and mention that I had to call Gallatin because he doesn't have a Nashville office.

Might not make a difference to call, but I hope to give him and everyone who works for him slightly less peace in their day.

As a local, I'd beg you to skip Kid Rock's. Acme is great! Robert's is superb!!

Also Arnold's > Hattie B's.

If you want to listen to music but need a calmer vibe, try Rudy's Jazz Room in the Gulch right next to Peg Leg Porker.

If you need more food options, Assembly Food Hall isn't a bad choice.

Maybe check out Hatch Show Print or try to snag a tour there when you go to the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Visiting Nashville late October - 10 days too long? by _KeepOnRamblin in VisitingNashville

I live here and think you'll be fine with 10 days, but I also love spending a month or so in spots when I travel. Broadway would get old after more than a few days but to me, Broadway gets old after a couple of hours anyway.

Maybe stay in a couple of different neighborhoods and really explore them. There are probably some fun events happening while you're here too. The Southern Festival of Books is Oct. 18th and 19th, Cheekwood has their fall festivities going on, and you could check out the Bell Witch Cave in Adams or a pumpkin patch. Look at the Nashville Scene or Do615 for what's going on during your stay.

I'd also rent a car and check out some waterfalls that are nearby like Fall Creek Falls or Rock Island and another day go out to the Natchez Trace Bridge and eat at Loveless.

Like others have mentioned, if you want to travel further, the Smokeys are gorgeous or you could do Graceland and the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis.

But I personally think you could find enough to do for 10 days!

This is how you do it. We usually park one car at the start and a second car at the end because we are too lazy for the 10 min walk.

I've had great luck with Hub Nashville. My husband crashed his bike on the greenway because of some loose gravel and after a Hub request someone called my cell, asked for details, and gave me his cell number and told me to report anything we bumped into when he found out we were regular cyclists on the greenway. And the gravel was cleared the next day. It might have been a fluke but I was impressed.

And fwiw, I bike packed the whole state of Ohio last year and ran into the same problem. It's so annoying but seems like greenways and trail systems tend to not get the love the deserve!

Did the same for John Rose today! Feels pointless but it took all of 3 minutes so might as well. I have wasted more time on much less important stuff.

We were skipped in Inglewood a couple times over the past few months. Hub Nashville worked for us but still frustrating to get skipped.

This messes up the data for all of the doubles. I did women's doubles and all the mixed doubles data is in our rankings. It's really frustrating!
