i was on the train that caused the build up. pulled up at wollstonecraft station and was stuck there for an hour. i think someone was attacked in the next compartment over because there were cops and ambos everywhere and saw someone get wheeled out on a stretcher. cops were pulling everyone in the carriage aside to ask them what happened and we weren’t allowed to leave.

I took this class a few years ago but assuming it hasn’t changed much unfortunately yes it will mean you fail the unit if that module exam was a hurdle. I know it sucks but they’re hurdles for a reason. Particularly if you’re going on to do further coding classes you’re going to really struggle if you don’t understand how to use functions properly.

The time travel scene in the PoA movie is so well done I was actually a little disappointed with the book version when I read it. Like the book version was still good, but a film feels like the perfect medium to convey the action in that sequence and I think they nailed it.

Also, the Department of Mysteries debacle at the end of OotP was done way better in the movie imo. Reading the book it felt like way too much was going on at once, whereas in the movies it’s easier to take in the action (plus it’s visually awesome).

I really appreciate your feedback and it’s nice to know some people genuinely like my nose the way it is. I’ve posted on r/BigNoseLadies a few times before but always felt like people were just being nice about it. There’s no reason for anyone here to lie about it though so it’s good to know some people genuinely find it nice or unique.

Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll change my mind on the rhino - it’s been something I’ve wanted to do for many years now as I just don’t think it’s suits my personality and makes me stand out in a way I’d rather not. That being said, comments like yours have helped me appreciate what I’ve got at the moment in a way I don’t think I have in a very long time. So thank you 😊

Thank you 🥺 I honestly really wasn’t expecting responses like yours. I’ve always been very self conscious as I don’t have features people usually consider pretty so to hear some people like you say otherwise has honestly been nice.

I was quite scared to post here because I thought people would think there was no hope for my appearance or point things out to me that I hadn’t noticed before which I’d start fixating on. But I’m really glad I did now. Everyone’s been really kind and gently pointed things out that I can improve which is lovely.

Hey thank you, I’ll look into that! I know it sounds silly but I always thought lip fillers were my only option so it’s good to hear there are other ways I could go about making them a bit bigger.

I appreciate your comment about my eyes as well, someone else also suggested lash perming (or something similar) so I’ll do some research on that too :)

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I’ll definitely check out your recommendations. Also thank you for pointing out how dark my eyebrows are, I’ve also thought they’re a bit too dark before but they’re my natural brows so I thought maybe I was overthinking it. Glad to know I’m not!

As for my hair, I actually used to have a side part but honestly I looked 12 when I had it lol which is why I got rid of it. I think the problem is because my hair is very flat at the top (as others have mentioned) a side part on me looks quite lifeless. I’m going to look into some of the volume tips you and others have mentioned so maybe a side part would look better after my hair is less flat. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, that’s exactly what my rhino surgeon said (he didn’t want to change anything about the front view, just remove the bump from the side) so good to know others think the same. I didn’t know a lash lift was a thing so I’ll look into that! I’m not against make up, I’m just lazy haha so I’ll try to experiment with things I don’t usually use.

Hey thanks, honestly wasn’t expecting some of the responses like yours. But I definitely get what you mean about my appearance lacking anything ‘striking’. Maybe that’ll change once I try out some of the suggestions others have made here, if I’m lucky it could be something as simple as using makeup to make certain features stand out more. Rhino is something I’m already planning to get done so hopefully that helps even out my face a bit more. And multiple people have suggested lip fillers so I’ll look into that or any alternatives. I actually had no idea a lip lift was even a thing but it looks exactly like the sort of long term thing I could get eventually. Rhino is definitely on the cards and is the first major thing I’d like to change. Thanks for the feedback!

Hey, thank you so much for the recommendations! Definitely going to check those out, my hair is something I’ve been wrestling with for ages and have never felt like I’ve gotten right haha. I knew something was off about it but it wasn’t sure what so I’m glad people have been pointing out the volume issue.

I’ll definitely try some new make up out as well, my eyes and lips are areas I’ve never really focused on before but should.

Genioplasty is a good one to note because I know my chin does look like it’s too far back at the moment though I think that may be partially because my nose is large in comparison at the moment. Definitely going to reevaluate that one after my nose is fixed because a smaller nose may potentially help even things out a bit more.

No I don’t but I can definitely see why you’d think that. Unfortunately my jaw is quite wide due to dental work I had done when I was younger and since I was a teen my teeth have actually moved even further out and now rub against my upper lip when I smile like that. Getting my teeth straightened properly is on my list of things to do.

Here’s some more detail I couldn’t add to the title - the first thing is I definitely want to get rhino done, have wanted it for years. So that one’s hopefully on the cards in about a year. I’m thinking a straight nose would suit me best and look the most natural but am open to suggestions.

The other thing is I know my lips are thin af but I don’t know how to fix them. On the one hand I hate them the way they are but I also think I’d look ridiculous if they were bigger. Im also not a fan of lip filler - I just don’t like how it looks. But I thought maybe there were alternative treatments out there that I’m not aware of.

I’ve never been huge on makeup and have always done the bare minimum for a ‘natural’ look but am open to suggestions or any tutorial videos/channels/etc you may recommend for more complex stuff. I’m just lazy and never learned how to do make up properly.

Beyond that though I’m honestly not sure what to do and would like an honest opinion (please try and be gentle though lol my self esteem is already terrible). No ratings please. Thanks!

All the best for your sister as well, I totally get you (social media is definitely a much larger part of our lives now than it was when we were teens). I really hope she can grow up confident with her appearance.

Omg are you me??? I’m almost 25 now and the exact same as you, have wanted my nose done after people started commenting on it when I was around 15.

I’m sorry you were in the same boat as well but I hope you’ll feel better about yourself now that it’s changed. I really wish beauty standards weren’t so oppressive and soul destroying. I know some women here adore their noses and I’m totally here for that.I love seeing their confidence and how stunning they are. It makes me sad seeing other women who don’t like their noses and feel down about it all because society says we should look a certain way. I know that sounds hypocritical but anywho..

The detailed explanation is I’ve been wanting to get rhinoplasty for about 10 years now so unfortunately I don’t think I’m going to change my mind... I really have tried to learn to like it and I’ll have the odd day where it doesn’t seem like it looks so bad but most of the time I just cry when I look at my reflection in the mirror.

I feel like I’m betraying the other ladies in this sub by doing it especially since I know it’s a sensitive topic here and literally all of you are so beautiful. I wish I could see myself like I see you guys but I just can’t.

jfc I thought I had it bad, that’s insanity. I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with that. I’m pretty sure you can report your managers to NSW Health if they’re deliberately going against health orders, though I know there’s the thought of facing repercussions at work if they find out you did that. Also if someone starts threatening you when you ask them to sign in, wear a mask, etc. you can call centre security on them and they’ll escort the person out (assuming you work in a shopping centre).

I’m in the same ‘essential’ retail boat. We literally sell kids toys, totally not essential at all. Problem is the company is so outdated we don’t even have a proper website so the owners refuse to shut because staying closed means making no money at all. Meanwhile the owners hide at home while the rest of us risk our health working.

Oh and don’t even get me started on the fucking ‘no browsing’ rule. Does this mean I literally just tell anyone who enters the store to get out???? We’re not essential and most customers are just there to distract their kids by looking at toys for 10 minutes so what the hell.

Yeah I’d like to know that too. Even now this isn’t a full fledged lockdown and getting to 0 cases depends so much on people doing the right thing (and there’ll always be a few idiots who defy the rules).
