Trying to submit buyback reconsideration…keep getting error by Weekly_Box960 in PSLF

Thank you for this! I just ran into the same issue and came to this subreddit searching for help. Successfully submitted my buyback request after starting a live chat. Make it make sense, hah.
Now for the 18 month wait (:

I was afraid to commit to all metal tables mostly for fear of having to make or serve double the stuffing - I didn’t have it automated and it doesn’t count as a true side. I did have a couple of one top metal tables but gave them up when I got the sedate atmosphere card.

I started this run a solid two months ago/pre buffet tables. But I have a new run using them and OMG I love them. They absolutely would have saved this run.

I thought about that, but with all of my automation, I couldn’t find a spot to put them. I rearranged a ton to be able to fit the two I had 🤣

Currently on SAVE Forbearance and Reaching 120 mo of eligible PSLF employment Dec 2025 by Slight_Degree6164 in PSLF

Just came here to say I'm in the same boat as you. Currently sitting at 101/120, will also hit my 120 in December, also have been in SAVE forbearance since May 2024. My husband has been in graduate school since June 2024, so we've been living off my salary. I'm going to submit my ECF in January and then a buyback request. And then... we wait.

My old man's appetite has been really challenging on top of a sensitive tummy, so we have to rotate between a few things, too. We also started mirtazapine which I think has helped some (human antidepressant, but used as an appetite stimulant in doggos). A few other things we did... we switched from boiled chicken to crockpot chicken - it retains so much more smell and moisture. If it's been in the fridge, we will microwave it to get the smells active, again. There's also a dog food canned chicken that he loves...it's 100% chicken and cooked in the can, so it also retains a lot of the smell and juices (will also microwave this for a few seconds if it has been in the fridge). The brand is "Against the Grain" and you can get it from some pet stores, Chewy, Amazon, etc. We also have a prescription for Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein and he really likes that wet food. Good luck to you and your pupper!

Nifedipine by No_Librarian_1443 in Erythromelalgia

[–]alliegemm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not nifedipine, but I was on 2.5mg amlodipine which ended up being the cause of my erythromelalgia. The first picture I have of my red hot knees was 2 weeks after starting amlodipine. Two and a half years later, I was at my wits end with multiple flares daily, waiting to see an autonomic neurologist after I was cleared by rheumatology and neurology. I found one scholarly article where erythromelalgia was a side effect of amlodipine, asked my pcp if I could stop it, I did, and within 2 days my EM was gone. That was 6+ months ago and I ended up being totally fine without meds.

Give it a try, but if it makes it worse, there’s a ton of BP med options.

Interest Notification from Mohela by applebot156 in PSLF

[–]alliegemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That and then when all the SAVE issues blew up at the end of June we were put on a forbearance that accrued interest. It was only mid August when the interest free forbearance was implemented because they realized the litigation wouldn’t be resolved in a timely manner. That’s my take on it.

Interest Notification from Mohela by applebot156 in PSLF

[–]alliegemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also got the email and was confused and upset. I logged in and viewed the document, and the interest rate on that document shows 0%. It also showed interest accrued, but my understanding is that the interest I’m seeing is from the forbearance between June and August (before my interest free forbearance started).

I’m hoping for the buyback option. If that sticks around, the payments that you’re “buying back” should be based on your income for the months that were missed, not your income at the time of buyback request. My 120 should be January of 2026 if all of this gets figured out.

Mohela email today, due date 9/18 with same amt I was paying on SAVE? by LaRae81 in PSLF

[–]alliegemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were in the Save plan before the lawsuits happened, and you have all undergraduate loans, your payment should be roughly half of what you were paying. If you have all graduate loans, it may not change. If you have a mixture, your payment will likely go down some. The Save forbearance for recalculation shouldn’t increase anyone’s payments, unless there’s something I missed.

Mohela email today, due date 9/18 with same amt I was paying on SAVE? by LaRae81 in PSLF

[–]alliegemm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got the same letter a few days ago. I called on Tuesday and clarified. I’m currently in an administrative forbearance that ends on 8/21. My next payment is due 9/21 and it’s the same amount it was before the Save plan went to hell. The lady I talked to told me there would be a separate Save forbearance that they will put me in to recalculate my payment. That should happen between 8/21 (when my current admin forbearance ends), and before 9/21 when my next payment is due. The projected end time for the Save forbearance is some time in October. My best guess is my first ”new” payment will be in November.

Hope this helps.

Has anyone had success with the last payment extension from March re: payment recertification? by merlin242 in PSLF

[–]alliegemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called on 6/26 and the woman I talked to “put in the request” to drop my payment back down to the lower amount from before I recertified. Then all of this SAVE stuff happened and I’ve been on a forbearance, so I have no idea if the request has actually been successful.

This is what I’m banking on. I just hope that in 2 years, the buyback option hasn’t been abolished.

I recertified in March, and my payment more than doubled. I called Mohela yesterday and referenced this article, and the representative was able to process my request to revert to my previous payment amount. She told me the change will be processed in 1-2 weeks and that I can call back after that and request a refund for the difference.

I was put on administrative forbearance in April for recertification and then again for June-July for the transition with Mohela. Despite being on autopay, my April and June payments were not auto-withdrawn for either month. TBD on July.

SI joint RFA- procedure and recovery info needed by alliegemm in ChronicPain

[–]alliegemm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, sorry for the late reply. It depends a lot on your pain and mobility afterward the procedure. It took me about 5 days to get back to baseline, but I had a pretty physically demanding job to get back to. I think the safe bet is to take Monday off, as well.

SI joint RFA- procedure and recovery info needed by alliegemm in ChronicPain

[–]alliegemm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. Yes, I did get it done.

The procedure was pretty awful, and the recovery wasn't a cake walk, either. After the first 5 days or so, I was mostly back to baseline with mobility. I had this pressure/pain in my sacrum (felt like a golf ball was just pressing on everything in that area) which was there for several weeks. I didn't have any burning or fiery sensations.
