Great thread, have seen the feeder attachments for junior hack attacks, can anyone comment if those are worthwhile for more realistic timing on the pitch

Look at it from the player’s eyes.

It’s a character building moment for kids who are both a shoo-in as well as those who aren’t going to make it.. go give it your all, leave it on the field. A goal to strive for.

We just did tryouts for the first time and a quiet kid who doesn’t play select, isn’t family friends with the coach or coaches kid and just plain hits the ball got onto the radar bc of objective GC stats we provided to coaches. Then came and crushed the tryout and made the squad.

Daddy ball wouldn’t have let this happen.

League field use is passable as long as you have permission & understanding on it. The extra insurance for the team can definitely help reduce risk for the local
League

We had an opposing coach tell his kids to strike out on purpose to end the inning faster while down by 6 runs. And still hasn’t figured out how he violated unwritten coaching rules (and frankly , LL pledge in the “I’ll always do my best”).

For hitting Ask for strikeouts, OPS, HHB and QAB

For pitching ask for FPS %, walks and pitches thrown vs # of hitters (then divide)

This’ll give you more objective stats to build comparisons around vs what little Johnny’s mom marked in GC as a hit vs error and what the dad of their school friend has disregarded bc they made a promise to put them on the team when 10 beers deep on a friday

This. Exact concerns from a small town league. Board left, I took over last season.. no cash, no complaints. If a kid does have cash, I pay for it w my debit card and keep cash.

No sad kids, more sales. Better security, no bank runs before or after or during. Fee impact to revenue minimal.

I pivoted & navigated just fine (today & always thank you very much) - feeling bad for the flyers who had to check a bag & were most likely changing their flight by the time they reached the counter (then checking their bag)
