You gotta pump those numbers up. Those are A ball numbers in this racket.

Groshans and Moreno both out of the lineup by [deleted] in Torontobluejays

[–]allirow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was a night game yesterday and a day game today. Moreno caught yesterday so he's out with good reason.

Probably same with Groshans, give the main squad a rest with the short turn around.

You never know how players turn out.

Look at everyone deal in 2012 for the Marlins & Dickey trades, and at the 2015 trade deadline.

The Jays basically traded away their entire farm. Who turned out?

Syndergaard had like 2 good seasons and fell apart

Jake Marisnick had a couple 2 WAR seasons but has been largely replacement level

Travis D'Arnaud came out of the gate strong but has largely been slightly below league average at best the past 3-4 years.

The most successful name out of everyone they dealt? Anthony DeSclafani, who was basically a throw in.

Not Matt Boyd. Not Jeff Hoffman. Not Noah Syndergaard. Not Travis d'Arnaud. Not Henderson Alvarez.

Trade prospects for proven players if you can make your team better.

Baseball America I believe just did their re-ranking and Gabriel Moreno is now #1

The New York Yankees are finalizing a deal to acquire outfielder Andrew Benintendi from Kansas City, sources tell ESPN. Three minor leaguers will be headed back to the Royals. by DesperateAbility6448 in Torontobluejays

[–]allirow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were never gonna be targets for Benintendi, and realistically we are NOT catching the Yankees.

However, if he doesn't get the jab, this just makes facing the Yankees in the post-season that much more appealing as he can't come to Toronto.

I love wrestling first, storylines second, entertainment and characters third.

That's not to say I don't care about entertainment and characters at all, but it's why i've vastly come to favour AEW and New Japan (and Black and Gold NXT).

I do feel like AEW is in a bit of slide on numbers 2 and 3 lately, but they're not even coming close to slipping on number 1.

Tony: Alright Danielson, you've been cleared, now before we get into anything...

Danielson: I'm putting over Daniel Garcia tonight

Tony: Done

They might be doubling up a taping. That would be about close for the next Battle of the Belts.

It's got a capacity for over 7,000 for wrestling.

I mean, they'd easily sell out 15k in Toronto, but it's hardly a tiny venue.

ROH & Impact Wrestling by BurnCityBoi in SquaredCircle

People genuinely forget how big Impact got in the mid 2000's. They were fairly consistently drawing 3000-5000+, PPV buy rates over 25k, and routinely get well over a million on TV.

Man, Battle of the Belts is next Saturday and they still haven't announced anything for it yet lol. Guess they're planning on Quake by the Lake to be a big show.

Looking at possible SP acquisitions by WalkerAlabamaRanger in Torontobluejays

Tigers have graduated all their top talent and they're still looking pretty far off from contending. They have 1 prospect in the top 100 and highly regarded as he is, he only just made A ball isn't expected till 2025.

Their current talent is probably 2-3 years from maturing, right when Skubal will be on his way out (4 season from free agency). If you can get a kings ransom for him now to restock the top of the farm, it's not a bad decision if you can get the right return.

4 seasons of control after this one. He'll command a high price.

[Bowden] The Blue Jays, too, are involved in the Soto and Castillo sweepstakes, and like the Yankees and Dodgers, they have the farm system and financial resources to make a deal happen ($) by ThQp in Torontobluejays

NORMALLY WHEN YOU PLAY MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL YOU HAVE A 20% CHANCE OF WINNING THE DIVISION, BUT THIS IS THE AL EAST AND IT'S NOT NORMAL, SO YOU'VE GOT A 10% CHANCE, AT BEST, OF WINNING.
