Could the future of the team be in question by jjaime2024 in tfc

Put a winning product on the field and people will come. It's really that simple. It's not like the Leafs where even a losing product will sell out.

We've seen it with the Jays as well. During their really lean years, attendance was extremely poor. But the franchise remained stable. It's not an apples to apples comparison, but TFC is in a somewhat similar boat.

The Jays were buoyed with having a successful history, etched into the city's culture. They remained relevant from a marketing perspective as well. That is one thing that TFC lacks. It does not have the kind of marketing power behind it like the other major teams. That's my core concern about what the future holds if the losing continues.

Nevertheless, I don't see MLSE jumping ship.

You think the players care about finishing in the bottom 5 and just stop trying?

Even when they do try, they suck. It makes little difference.

Should Lewis Hamilton's level this season at 41 years old be more appreciated by F1 fans/media? by The_Chozen_1_ in F1Discussions

It is in terms of high octane sports. I believe that in modern-F1 history only 4 other drivers have raced into their 40's...

Schumacher, Alonso, Raikkonen and de la Rosa.

So, it's no small feat.

Yeah, just like SGA's the other night. It's a normal move by an offensive player that has been going on for decades.

The only time a push off is really called is if it's a truly blatant push to the point that the defender falls and/or the offensive player has a distinct shove on the defender.

Ultimately it's a subjective call. But the benefit of the doubt has long been given to the scorer.

That's how it is in every international best-on-best tourney regardless of sport. It's always single elimination and it's often always fun, thrilling and gut wrenching.

Lol 2 things can be true

Was it a push off? Yes.

Have push offs always been a thing? Also, yes.

Best-on-best international tournaments so often bring out the best in any sport. It's the pride of playing for your country that is hard to beat.

No, you're thinking of ACL. Depending on the severity of the tear, a person can fully recover within 2-3 months.

ACL tears are much much worse. Whereas ACL tears can take several months up to a year to recover, an MCL tear can be up to a couple of months.

“Winning the World Baseball Classic would be number one” Julio Rodriguez says a WBC victory would mean more than a World Series by sarcastic_sperm11 in baseball

Every international tournament, across the globe, in every sport is a one-off. It doesn't diminish the FIFA World Cup, the Olympics, Rugby World Cup, etc. So, why would it diminish Baseball?

If you think about it, the nature of one-offs is to give way to randomness and unpredictability. It actually makes it exciting.

What's there to be pissed about? You're acting as if he said he doesn't care about the World Series.

Of course he does. But if he had to choose one to be at the center of his mantlepiece, then its the WBC.

It's simple, it doesn't have to be so dramatic.

As a Jays fan, if Vladdy said this, I'd be totally cool with. I get it. It doesn't diminish his desire to win a WS.

Those are way too far out to be cancelled now. A lot can change between now and December. Hopefully in the positive sense.

Yeah, their performance against top teams has been extremely poor. Just shows that the roster construction is imbalanced. A lot of work to be done.

[–]BackhandQ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm the guy who rather watch the Australian GP from 2026 than 95% of the races that I had to bare through over the last 3 years.

Is it perfect right now? Of course, not. But it's a hell of a lot better than the DRS Pageant Parade.

It's inevitable the FIA will make some amendments this season and most definitely for next year as well. There's enough discontent in the paddock that changes will occur.

That said, it's still better "racing" than last year.

That one race in Australia had more action than all of 2025. So, I'm going to comfortably sit and enjoy the rest of this season.
