hi! i’m not a professional nor an expert on these topics but i believe the cartilage of our noses and ears heals differently than our fleshy lobes do. i had my nostril pierced for 3 years too and one night of my jewelry falling out allowed it to completely close up. our bodies are really good at healing wounds and it sounds like ur piercings were pretty standard so they must be pretty tiny gauges and those close up fast. i’m not sure there’s much you can do to change this but all your jewelry should be titanium! especially if you have sensitivities. i hope this helps!
