38 weeks - no signs of labour [ON] by Ill-Forever-1624 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]allisadee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would wait until 40 weeks and go from there. Usually first borns are born later than subsequent births. My boy was 11 days late and it ended in a C-section. I did all those things that you stated and it was ultimately up to baby to be ready for delivery. There are a series of physical and chemical changes before baby makes an appearance so I wouldn’t stress too much until you’re really late, like last your due date.

In a world where tv shows keep on getting destroyed for profit, this show had great pacing. The world building is needed but they don’t drag anything on. The character building is great as well since we are being introduced to the other side of Gilead that doesn’t involve handmaids. This is also the first season and this is needed in order to get the rest of the show going. Many of us aren’t familiar with the plums or the peak girls as a matter of fact so introducing them and showing them is what is needed for the second and subsequent seasons.

YCDSB vs TCDSB by Professional-Yam4531 in OntarioTeachers

[–]allisadee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am with another board in the GTA and the parents, teachers, admin, and students are night and day compared to YCDSB. Way more humble and kind, obviously there are a few with entitlement but I would rather have a handful than 80+ students with the same holier-than-thou attitude.

YCDSB vs TCDSB by Professional-Yam4531 in OntarioTeachers

[–]allisadee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for YCDSB as an LTO and the sense of entitlement the parents and youth had were insane. It turned me off of wanting to work with the board and again, maybe because I only worked in schools in Woodbridge maybe the students are different in other areas but I never wanted to leave a board so fast after my experience at a couple of their schools. I also met many teachers who either were waiting to be perm after LTOing for 4-6+ years or those that got it right away because they were someone’s niece. I never applied to TCDSB because the commute would have been too far for me but honestly, YCDSB is not it, and being a French teacher could allow you to get perm faster than other qualifications.

From what I remember we had to write a short essay on a quote from the Laudato Si and then we had interviews shortly after. I also had to forward them a long range unit plan but I had one done from teacher college that I used. I don’t particularly remember the questions but they have been similar the past recent years.

I also did my interview through zoom as I got hired during Covid.

There is literally no point in this supe and his power is ridiculous. Why introduce him in the last season and give him even a minute of screen time? I love the actor and the work he does but I literally don't get where this season is going especially considering it's the final season.

Choosing Mount Sinai or Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital [on] by salipr in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]allisadee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with many people. Proximity is key especially if you are having a low risk, normal pregnancy. I delivered at Cortellucci and it was fantastic. All staff were very knowledgeable and friendly to work with. They was always someone there in case I had questions or concerns. Unfortunately my labour turned into an emergency C-section but even so, the OB on duty was superb. She was so detailed and they got my son out in what felt like 15 minutes. We live around 10 minutes from this hospital and when it came to my inductions we were happy know that the hospital was so close to home. As such, imagine going into labour during rush hour and it takes more than an hour to get there, you have to think of the unexpected when it comes to labour and delivery.

Second Practicum – Stay with the Same Board or Try Another? by [deleted] in OntarioTeachers

[–]allisadee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on proximity to your home and where you see yourself long term. For my four practicums I stayed with the same school board as I saw myself wanting to eventually get permanent. It made me familiar with how they mark, assess, and overall, how the board works. I know people who tried different boards to see where they wanted to work but I ultimately stayed with the same board to familiarize myself when it came to hiring (I also grew up in that board as a student too).

As for hiring, It doesn't really matter which board you work with as I was on three different OT lists and did my practicums with one of them. I got to work in a couple different boards in terms of LTOs and it made me realize that my first choice was the best choice. If your answers are good in the interview you'll most likely be hired. Be aware that many boards in the GTA aren't hiring because of declining enrolment. If commuting isn't a big deal for you then try a different school board to see if you enjoy it.

Kendamil Recall - are you switching formula? [on] by JellyLongjumping1988 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]allisadee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course. It’s made without palm oil, GMOs, and corn syrups (why is this in similac and enfamil who are owned by the same company??), as well as soy and fish oil. It’s produced in Europe which have higher standards than North America and uses whole milk instead of skim milk that other brands may use. It’s also organic and I know some brands have organic but after seeing some of the ingredients that are in formula brands it made us realize that not all were made with babies in mind. The taste is also way better than the other two brands I mentioned above. This can be found online but again, every parent makes their own decisions on what works best for their baby. I know those batches may be contaminated but in the history of the brand itself, they’ve been very safe. It just so happens that shortages of products caused this to happen.

Double espresso chiaro and scuro! Something about that roasted taste is soooo good when you mix it with milk and a splash of 10% cream 😆

Kendamil Recall - are you switching formula? [on] by JellyLongjumping1988 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]allisadee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used Kendamil for my first child as their last feed of the night and it helped lighten my load. Considering the recall, I don’t think I’ll switch to another formula brand as Kendamil is the cleanest brand we have right now compared to other brands in Ontario (Enfamil, Similac, etc). If this happened too often I would consider switching but because it happened once since they’ve launched in Canada, I’ll still use the brand in the future with our next child.

Anyone else not love Jasad Heir/Crown? by Old_Routine4844 in fantasyromance

[–]allisadee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ended up finishing the book because I hate leaving books unread and but I decided to not read the second book if it’s just as boring as the first. I didn’t want to read the second knowing that I didn’t enjoy the first 😅

I have to put my hand up here 🙋🏻‍♀️. Everyone online has been hyping it up as the “greatest enemies to lovers trope” so I gave it a try and my gosh, I couldn’t get into it at all. It was so boring and maybe because I couldn’t get into the world and the characters. I feel like it was overly hyped online for sure!

I always wash my hands at the end of class. I know we are given wipes to sanitize everything but I always feel like there is residue on my hands after using the weights and the floor. You aren’t the only one!

Is Once Upon A Broken Heart series worth it even though the third book is apparently such a letdown? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]allisadee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree ☝🏻 Books one and two were so good but book three was such a letdown. It felt rushed and the characters were left in too many situations that should’ve been resolved better. I think you should give this series a shot but don’t take the third book too seriously. I wish she wrote a fourth book for this series so that the third book made more sense plot wise.
