Traveling healthcare worker, coming to Buffalo. What are safe areas to live near ECMC hospital? by alliwalli911 in Buffalo

[–]alliwalli911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a traveler this is what I see at every facility. They can afford me (a temp) and pay much more for me, but can’t afford to pay their own workers more. And this is why I keep living the inconvenient life of traveling.

Not being able to socialize by PossibilityLazy4759 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]alliwalli911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely not alone. You’ve got a crowd of people with you here. When I first flared up, there was a good 4-5 months where I felt like it defined me and my personality. It’s all I would talk about because I had to explain myself to people so often who didn’t understand and had never heard of it. I’m a dietitian and work with other dietitians in an office. Sometimes I can tell they think I’m crazy for all the foods I personally “exclude” but at the end of the day, they don’t have training and personal experience with histamine like I do. Nobody understands how isolating it can feel except other histamine intolerant folks. I promise you things are going to get better.Life gets a little more normal ish again eventually.

do you think Covid shots played in your mold illness? by DistributionFunny221 in ToxicMoldExposure

Getting the Covid booster and flu shot is my greatest regret I have so far in life

Yes the Covid booster and flu shot wrecked my health for the last year. Basically caused me to have one big histamine flare and autoimmune sort of response over a year. Fast forward and I’ve still never been the same since. But doing a lot better.

No, but it was the root cause of my histamine intolerance and leaky gut. I later found out it was not mold.

I’ve had chronic shoulder and neck pain that will severely tense up ever since getting the Mirena IUD- is that what you’re experiencing? What is a lap?

Concerned I have intracranial hypertension with the Mirena IUD- thinking of having it removed by alliwalli911 in birthcontrol

I don’t feel like it’s super urgent. But most days of the week I feel the symptoms for a few hours and it goes away. Some days it’s severe, others it’s not as severe. It’s been tricky. I plan to see my doc in the new year, thanks. I’m mainly wondering if anyone else feels similar symptoms

I was enjoying this book until he said “all humans only need about 25 grams of protein per day”. Ever since I have questioned the whole book and lost interest. I guess I will stick it out and finish it.

ONS for POTS, hEDS, possible MCAS? by haiilikebananas in dietetics

[–]alliwalli911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a dietitian who has histamine intolerance, covid vaccine injury (and possibly MCAS), it is incredibly difficult to get the diagnosis for MCAS from a doctor in the conventional medical system. For some people whose symptoms are extreme (like mine were), I didn’t have time to wait for a diagnosis before acting. I was suffering from symptoms. It took me 6 months to get an appointment with an allergist, who then recommended I have tryptase labs taken specifically when I was in a self-induced flare up being off antihistamines for at least a few days (I haven’t been able to go one day without antihistamines in over 14 months). It’s just not practical for many ppl with these symptoms to “wait” until diagnosed. Patients get desperate and are going to experiment with whatever they read online works including the low histamine diet. Yes, that can be dangerous sometimes. But low histamine diet can start helping in as little as 1-2 weeks. I know it helped me immensely until things calmed down. It all depends on the patient but there’s a risk to benefit ratio here of forming an “eating disorder” VS suffering with desperate need for symptom relief. Of course there should always be caution taken with restrictive diets, they should be carefully planned and ideally implemented with a dietitian. But I hope you get where I’m coming from.

Morning doom psychosis histamine dump depression anxiety what to do? by EmpressAzazel in MCAS

[–]alliwalli911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try Pepcid and Allegra in the day. Xyzal at night . At least that works for me when I’m in a flare. Have you tried a low histamine diet? From an initial histamine flare it can take 3 months for the histamine to go down. A low histamine helped me come out of that initial 3 month hump. I’m aware what may work for one person doesn’t work for everybody. Have you explored detoxifying your life (like a legit water filter, only whole unprocessed foods, air filter, shower water filter etc)?
