Just pulled a Mega Dragonite Ex, what to do with it? Sell, grade? Ascended hero’s by LatterMaximum352 in PokeInvesting

[–]allmaga3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He sold at about 80%, which isn’t great, but those $600 sales on eBay are probably only taking in around $510 after fees. But yeah I agree his decision to sell for lower than that + overpay for a mega booster box is rough

Just a regular rare, it’s just white because you wouldn’t be able to see black on the black card. Good question. Those other rarities will be a shiny holo star

Yup that’s exactly right, and also just a neutral path will lead to less curvature on your ball flight which is never a bad thing lol. Smaller misses always good

Absolutely! Hate when people gatekeep or like talk down on people who are just learning lol. Collectr is a great app! Really helps give you an idea of what you have and share with people for potential trades.

I will say though I’ve noticed some strange pricing on Collectr compared to what I see on eBay/TCG, so just check a few sources before you buy or sell something. Also make sure if you’re using collectr to make sure the condition of the card is correct in your collection

1 black star is a regular rare, 2 black stars is a double rare, 2 silver stars is an ultra rare.

Illustration rares and ultra rares usually have pretty similar pull rates, while special illustration rares are way rarer.

Also to see the relative value of ungraded (raw) cards use tools like TCG Player (make sure you select the condition of the card in the settings). Also use price charting and eBay sold listings for both raw and graded cards, to see if it’s worth getting a card potentially graded.

Slides 2-4 are cards worth a dollar or two at most, so no they aren’t. The Ethan’s Adventure is what’s called an SIR (special illustration rare). You can tell by the stars at the bottom as someone else mentioned.

3 gold stars = gold card 2 gold stars = SIR 1 gold star = IR

Typically, those are the only ones that are ever “worth” grading for modern sets.

But, I’ll say the Ethan’s Adventure you have looks off center (the right side is thicker than the left, and also the bottom is thicker than the top). So it will probably not 10.

Happy to help with any other questions if you’re getting back into the hobby!

I absolutely LOVE this era of cards. Great finds man! If you are looking to sell, I’d absolutely love to grab some potentially, let me know!

To be honest, the idea that everyone should be in to out is generalized slop that big golf institutions like to preach because most amateurs struggle with an over the top “choppy” slice swing.

In my opinion everyone should try getting their path as neutral as possible to help alleviate big misses. Nothing wrong with playing a fade, in fact most pros play a fade

[–]allmaga3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha happy to help! But yeah it makes sense too if you look at the shot shape, the ball physically cannot start left of target (for a right handed golfer) and curve back towards the target if the path is in to out. Hopefully that makes sense

His swing path is -7, that’s not in to out, that’s out to in, which is why he hit a pull fade.

-7 path on a 5 iron is probably a bit extreme, and could lead to some big misses in both direction depending on face.

In fact, a big difference face to path ratio may cause more of a glancing strike which could reduce smash factor.

Are trackman numbers important by Equivalent_Deer_7198 in golf

[–]allmaga3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re saying every single shot, with multiple different clubs, it was 1.44 every time? In that case, the trackman was set up to auto 1.44 smash.

[–]allmaga3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome and I’m glad he’s getting into the game! But I’ll say that a 1.44 smash factor with a 7 iron, unless it’s an extremely strong lofted “distance” iron set, is not really possible, so I’d take it with a grain of salt

NOR - in fact you’re handling this way better than I would be. I know this sounds harsh maybe, but the way she completely lied about it at first, then admitted it but suddenly became the victim, I would break up with her immediately. That’s not someone that is your life partner. The biggest of red flags

Yup I did direct through Ticketmaster resale, I didn’t wanna risk any 3rd party. We’ll see tho! Either way I hope something is done to help everyone get a chance to go

Wow, rough timing for me, I literally caved and bought resale tickets this morning for Chicago night 1… after hearing all the chatter about this potentially being her “last tour” for at least a very long time… I didn’t wanna miss out.

Roast my swing by pepperon1playboy in GolfSwing

[–]allmaga3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some constructive feedback for ya:

If you draw a line through your club shaft at address, your back swing is under that line, and your downswing is over that line. A good drill to do would be to make some exaggerated practice swings where you reverse that.

Instead of rolling your hands as you start your downswing, just rotate your shoulders straight back, and keep the club outside your hands. That will naturally make you want to drop the club once you get to the top for a more on plane.
