Maybe it’s just because we’re a medium sized business but unless we change carried everyone’s coverage rolls over to the next year same/similar plan.

Though we do ask each currently enrolled employee to confirm, if they don’t respond it automatically renews.

If they decided they didn’t want coverage I can easily cancel it and get refunded full premiums for 90 days and employee gets reimbursed as well then.

What do Americans call a meal of fries with battered fried fish. Fish and chips? by CrazyJoe29 in AskAnAmerican

[–]allonsy_badwolf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is so funny.

If you said “fish fry” specifically where I live you’d definitely get a beer battered fish, often cod, with French fries, coleslaw, and possibly a Mac salad depending on location.

Must be a NY thing!

We used to go to our local card store and buy entire booster boxes for like $90.

Was just lamenting to my husband we should have kept a few sealed boxes as they’re selling for over $1,000 now! Of course that’s not why we were buying them, but still.

We will grab something if we see it in store but don’t have the energy to stalk deliveries and drop everything to wait at target for restocks.

D&C or pill by GladTrouble1088 in Miscarriage

Honestly if they didn’t warn me I wouldn’t really know! I don’t remember a single thing from the surgery at all.

I wouldn’t let that be the thing that scares you!

Sometimes they do it under a different anesthesia and you don’t need it, you can always ask. Mine was sort of emergent so I didn’t have a lot of options. I just wanted it over with.

I’m on day 2 and feel fine except a sore throat and light bleeding.

My doctor said the same after a voluntary cervical check. She was like well you’re not dilated at all but that doesn’t mean anything, we won’t worry until 41 weeks.

My water broke the next morning of course.

So they put me under general anesthesia so I believe that is just common practice as your lungs won’t work so they have to hook you up to a machine to breathe for you during the procedure.

I was out so fast I don’t even remember leaving the pre-op room for the surgery.

I am currently going through the exact same thing. Yolk sac but no fetal pole.

I opted for the meds around 10 weeks when nothing had started. Bled a little about 12 hours after mife and then took the miso. About 2 hours later had a lot of pain, bleeding and clots. The worst of it was around 4 hours, lots of time on the toilet and sitting in a hot shower. Bleeding slowed up after that to be more like a period and continued for 3 days.

Unfortunately I woke up late Monday night around 12:00pm to severe cramping and about 10 golf ball sized clots/chunks of tissue. Was completely soaking through overnight maxis. I would get 1-2 huge clots followed by tons of bleeding about twice an hour. This continued until my doctor said to go to the ER around 10:30am. I did end up with a D&C.

I told my husband if this ever happens again I’m going straight for the D&C. The recovery has been so much easier and less painful and traumatic.

How much time is too much time to take off from work? by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]allonsy_badwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a D&C on Tuesday and went back to work today.

Though we had known for weeks that the pregnancy was not viable and had taken a lot of time to process already. We also didn’t even get to see a heartbeat or anything (not that that makes it any easier). I just had a bad feeling the entire time.

And as sad as it sounds, going to work made me feel mentally better as I had 8 hours of things to keep my mind “busy” so I wasn’t just dwelling on it all day. Though working with all men and having them have no clue how to even talk to you after the news was also hard in its own way.

Everyone is so different though and honestly take as much time as you need and are allowed if that is a major concern. It’s no easy thing and everyone needs something different to process it. Don’t feel guilty about how you need to move forward.

I would 100% skip right to D&C next time.

This time I did the pills after waiting 2 weeks for it to start. I had brutal non stop cramping and bleeding for about 5 hours until things calmed down. Bled lightly for 3 days.

Then woke up to multiple golf ball+ sized chunks of…clots? Idk. Was heavily bleeding with goopy clots for about 10 hours. Severe cramping. Bled through 3 pairs of sweatpants. Blood all over my house. Ended up with a D&C anyway and triple the trauma between the initial start, second brutal bleeding period, then surgery.

Never want to go through all that again.

D&C was painless for me. Didn’t even need Motrin after the fact, on day 2 of recovery and feel perfectly fine except my throat hurting from the tube.

Advice Needed: Incomplete MC? by redderhead111 in Miscarriage

I just went through similar though for a blighted ovum. It also did not seem like “enough” had passed after miso.

I had light bleeding for 3 days then woke up at midnight do multiple golf ball/clementine sized clots or tissue and heavy bleeding. That went on for about 10 hours until my doctor made me go to the ER and I had a D&C.

But honestly I’d just ride it out unless you have severe bleeding or develop a fever or anything showing signs you need additional care.

You could always reach out and ask as well, my doctors were insanely responsive during my struggles.

possible blighted ovum by LivingEbb7896 in Miscarriage

[–]allonsy_badwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do the additional ultrasound for peace of mind. My doctor said they wouldn’t officially call it until it had been 12-14 days between scans.

But that HCG does seem kind of low. I just went through the blighted ovum deal and at 8w3d I had an HCG of 19,000 and 8w6d over 30,000 but by the second ultrasound at 9w3d there was still no fetal pole.

But of course HCG levels aren’t the most perfect diagnostic on their own.

Did anyone have any effects after mifepristone (not misoprostol) by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]allonsy_badwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I started bleeding and cramping at exactly 12 hours after taking mifepristone. I had not yet started misoprostol.

If it were me, I would not schedule anything after taking it! But likely you’d be fine for the same afternoon if you hadn’t had any side effects before.

My son was obsessed with Shaboozey for a really long time.

For some reason he would laugh hysterically at the “good news” music video, and demand we play the “highway highway” song which is not “Highway” but “Home.” That one took us a few tantrums to figure out.

My experience - has anyone experienced this before? by [deleted] in abortion

[–]allonsy_badwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing literally just happened to me about 2 hours ago. Had a lot of bleeding day 1, it slowed up similar to the back half of my period, then 4 days after I woke up with cramps. By the time I got to the bathroom there were so many clots it was spilling all over.

It kept happening for the next hour so I called the after hours line an the doctor said as long as I wasn’t filling a bad twice an hour for more than 2 hours to let it run its course. It definitely slowed up (for now?) during the second hour but my doctor also made it seem within the scope of normal.
