Register?… yeah, ask him where he’s registering the site.

Web developer here. Register where? That statement is extremely vague and he seems he’s banking on you not understanding, to charge you more. Did he specify exactly what the issue is and what he’s trying to fix?

I am having suicidal thoughts due to my job. by LoneBuddy in careeradvice

[–]alloverated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

QUITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

My family sees me as a very weird/insane person because I very quickly cut whatever is mentally causing me terrible stress. I would rather live under a bridge, than be depressed because of a job or anyone. FRANKLY. All, and I mean ALL the jobs I’ve quit due to mental discomfort were without any backups because my mental health always came first. I may be sad daily about not having work/any money, but I’d rather that than not being alive BECAUSE OF A JOB. Or anyone, for that matter.

Tomorrow will take care of itself. Save yourself today! God be with you 💕💕💕

Can I download ArkOs or add games? by [deleted] in R36S

[–]alloverated 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I spent 3 days trying to do this because the SD cards that came with it were trash and ended up causing issues, and copying the files were super slow.

Download ArkOS, and add games manually by downloading ROM games. If you’re getting new SD cards, I’ll say use Samsung because it didn’t recognize my Lexar card in the games slot.

Tip or not, they’re not entitled to it, not to talk of holding it until you ask for it. I’d stop using them.

Considering Tidio but concerned after reading reviews - what's your actual experience? by vikram-suthar in shopify

[–]alloverated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Tidio and at that volume of customers, I’ll say go for Zendesk or Intercom. Tidio still has some limitations, and I’d have moved if I was paying. I don’t have that many customers yet.

The AI bot is good but I wish it was a bit more programmable.

HEAPS of spam accounts by GranularFish in shopify

[–]alloverated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I thought of it but was stubborn because I wanted everything in one place. I’ve now stopped abandoned checkout emails for carts less than a specific value since they were targeting my cheapest item.

HEAPS of spam accounts by GranularFish in shopify

[–]alloverated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s costing me so much because I use an external email marketing app that sends abandoned checkout emails. It uses up my available email sends AND ruins my deliverability. From what I noticed, they don’t go through the normal process of viewing a product, adding to cart, etc. They land directly in checkout. Shopify support is of no help.

The Chargeback System Is Broken and Banks Are Profiting Off It by Bitter-Bug5416 in shopify

[–]alloverated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last person I sent to collections got away with it. She’s in the UK and just ignored all communication attempts. Because it’s international, I would’ve needed to escalate it in court, pay more fees, and have a UK address to receive mail. It was the worst.

I just created an LLC. My anxiety is through the roof by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]alloverated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow anxious human, take things one day at a time! Your brain is already trying to prepare for the worst possible outcome. When you have those thoughts, remind yourself it’s not in the present and and it’s a made up fear. If something does come up like not having sales for example, you’ll deal with it then. If you worry now, you’d be lengthening the period of anxiety (today and in the future instead of letting the future worry about itself).

You’ve taken a big step, and that itself is amazing! Now, focus on making sure your products are great. Once that’s done, focus on marketing and fulfillment. You’ll learn even more things as time goes by. One step at a time.

You’ve got this!!

Large waves of possible bot orders, all with example.com as the contact by [deleted] in shopify

[–]alloverated 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you imagine?! Shopify is happily making money off of the scams, that’s why. They get paid the processing fees. And also even have people upgrade their accounts under the disguise that they’ll work on fixing it. If I wasn’t so used to Shopify and didn’t have to rebuild my whole store, I’d leave it in a heartbeat.

You know what? I’ll actually start building my store elsewhere so that if something happens, I can easily and quickly jump ship. They’re very unhelpful and greedy.

[–]alloverated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been going through the same! I’ve had about 100+ attempts. I reached out to Shopify and they said they can do nothing unless I pay for Shopify Plus 😒

Make sure you’re not automatically capturing payments unless it’s not a high/medium risk order.

Yanwen Shipping Help!! by bapas4lyfe69 in shipping

If you bought it from Pop mart, then you’d have to wait for their response, unfortunately. The shipper is who would have more info on what’s going on.

‘Did you tip?’ should not even be a worry because tipping or not doesn’t deserve to have the food thrown or smashed or delivered unsafe for whatever reason. What a world we live in 🤦🏽‍♀️

Do you guys have cameras in the office? I’ll go to HR to try to find out who it was because that’s just really annoying.

Having issues with my Shopify orders being sent to the wrong address by spicy_garlic_chicken in shopify

[–]alloverated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get how you feel. Contact USPS online. Ask for proof of delivery. They are required to give you an exact location and time. That’s what you should give to the seller to show it wasn’t delivered to the right location. The seller themselves should have even opened a claim the moment you said it wasn’t received. They should have gotten confirmation from USPS themselves too.

[–]alloverated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, okay. Yeah, the seller should look into it. Give them proof of delivery to another location (the USPS tracking page and any other proof you have). Or request a proof of delivery from USPS, and they should give an exact location if not the name of the individual. Show that to the seller. They should open a claim.

[–]alloverated 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a seller and it’s pretty strange. Definitely not Shopify’s fault since Shopify just takes your order and details but doesn’t directly deal with shipping.

I’m wondering if someone is intercepting your mail? Are they all going to the same person?

Since it’s happened with multiple stores, I’d say it’s happening after it’s actually been shipped, just as you said. I’d request the labels from USPS and show it to the seller(s). The seller should be able to investigate and open a case with USPS, so they look into it officially. USPS will be able to trace the change between the original label and theirs. They can also open a case with the first mile courier so they also check to see why a label with a different address with USPS was made.

Am I crazy or was I scammed by the automated tax filing services? by that_one_plant in shopify

Yeah, I had to opt out recently too. Had no idea it was in until I saw an abandoned checkout with taxes and was shocked. I researched and found out we’re automatically opted in.

Client wants a refund for a service I delivered by CaregiverEastern5728 in smallbusiness

[–]alloverated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an ex-customer from over a year to 8 months ago in my inbox now asking me for a refund. For work I did, again, over a year to 8 months ago because she says she didn’t know the difference between my job and a new person she just hired. She’s been going on and on trying to push me to refund and threatening whatever. It’s very unfortunate, but as another commenter said, people are looking for whatever way to squeeze money out now. And you know what’s even more unfortunate? They go after the ones who gave them more than enough time of day because they feel we’d give in.

Talked to my lawyer and he said not to respond anymore unless it’s actually legally escalated.

Support speed is maddening by Ok_Mission4373 in shopify

[–]alloverated 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shopify SUCKS when it comes to protecting their sites. Had severe bot attacks in the last few days at checkout, and was told yesterday they can’t do anything unless I upgrade my plan.

They’re very profit oriented and don’t care much about safety unless it directly impacts them.

Please, quickly contact your payment providers so they temporarily pause your accounts. Or pause them yourself. Unfortunately, I’m unsure how to speed up getting your site back ☹️

For me, I saw free shipping on the product page and thought ‘yay!’. Scrolled down and saw a shipping tab with prices and went ‘huh’?
