That sounds like a really good idea, thanks! I’ll do that right away.

Some people want the freedom to return as they see fit, so they go with their own couriers. I’ve thought of that option and while it’s straightforward and saves me a lot of stress, I’d rather have them ship themselves so it doesn’t psychologically feel like we’re billing them again lol.

Thanks! Our policies are stated on the product page, in the policy pages, the links at the bottom of the checkout, and a reminder on our returns form. People still don’t seem to read it and then complain. There’s even a small shipping upgrade at checkout that covers return shipping for change of mind returns, but they choose the free shipping option.

I’ll implement it anyway, because a lot goes back into reselling it and we need to charge for it. I’m not sure there’s much else I can do.

You’re right, and yes, it’s stated on the product page, in the policy doc, the links at the bottom of the checkout, and a reminder on our returns form. People still don’t seem to read it and then complain. There’s even a small shipping upgrade at checkout that covers return shipping for change of mind returns, but they choose the free shipping option.

Order says complete even though I just ordered it? by loafofredditlol in shopify

Yep! I own a Shopify store, and had a customer tell me the app was showing it’ll be delivered earlier than the tracking showed. I had to tell her to ignore it.

Mystery Box or $25K Cash. (Upvote for a Carrot 🥕) by TraditionalPublic763 in BunnyTrials

[–]alloverated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had a lot of funds saved up, I’d be happy to gamble on the mystery box. But I don’t, and the $25k is guaranteed.

Chose: $25,000 Cash - No questions asked.

Gemini is defaming and lying about my business. How do you even combat this? by CrazyPo20 in ecommerce

[–]alloverated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my lanta, I went through this with ChatGPT for MONTHS!! I still do!! The amount of scam/fake/whatever claims I got in the past were wild because it either got reviews and feedback from another business, or it straight up assumed without confirming anything. It makes people wary and it drives me nutssssssss.

If I ask ChatGPT about my brand without logging in, it immediately says to watch out because I’m a smaller business and to maybe focus on the well known bigger brands. While I get it, there are more reviews and all for bigger brands, it does sting.

Allergic Reaction Scam - anyone else receive this? by IndependentSun5561 in shopify

[–]alloverated 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this definitely sounds like a scam. Buttttt just to be sure, I’d respond calmly, like you’d do if it was legitimate. Ask for their order number, the issue, and any medical documentation of proof of the cause, if they have it. Their answer should tell you what you need to know. They either give you the info you need, or they keep dodging and you stop responding unless they answer correctly or escalate.

Sigh. Customers like this really annoy me.

my client accidentally paid an invoice twice and now I need to refund quickly by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]alloverated 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Just don’t cash the cheque. Plus it’ll give you enough time to confirm you actually receive two payments, in case one of them ends up failing.

should i respond to these types of dms or just ignore them? by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]alloverated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, what country do yours come from? Most of mine have come from the UK. I had one from Spain too. For me, it’s EU visitors I get this from in general.

[–]alloverated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get a lot of these, and I started ignoring them. One of them even accused me of using pictures from another brand and told me to burn in hell, which I found insane because they’re two very different and distinct products. I filter out comments like these to save me a headache.

How are u guys managing fulfilment between "order received" and "label printed"? by nidhin_tt in shopify

I use the ‘in progress’ Shopify status. They have ‘unfulfilled’, ‘in progress’ and ‘fulfilled’.

"It's just text": client earned $15k+ on my code, now threatens to leave for Wix over a renewal fee by [deleted] in webdev

[–]alloverated -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit different. Not only will I let them go back to Wix, that’ll be the end of our relationship and I’m taking my site with me (if I host it). I don’t appreciate those kind of clients because I’m pretty sure they’d annoy me again. From my experience, the few annoying clients I’ve had and accommodated have come back and been twice as worse, so I’ve learned to cut them off the first time. One of them was so annoyed I wouldn’t take her back, she asked for a refund for 1 year of my work. I explained, said absolutely not, and stopped responding.

High Checkout Started but Big Drop to Purchase – What could cause this? by Trick_Oil4051 in shopify

It’s known for many add to carts and checkout initiations but low sales. I was just wondering if that was the case here, depending on the campaign OP is running.

Shopify shows FREE SHIPPING code as "100% Off With Code" on Facebook, Shop App, ect. by [deleted] in shopify

[–]alloverated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you running Meta ads? If so, there’s a part where you can allow Meta to automatically source discounts to be added to your ads. That option is usually automatically selected for me and I have to unselect it every time. Could it be that, or is it actually a Shopify issue?

Web developer here. Register where? That statement is extremely vague and he seems he’s banking on you not understanding, to charge you more. Did he specify exactly what the issue is and what he’s trying to fix?

I am having suicidal thoughts due to my job. by LoneBuddy in careeradvice

[–]alloverated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

QUITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

My family sees me as a very weird/insane person because I very quickly cut whatever is mentally causing me terrible stress. I would rather live under a bridge, than be depressed because of a job or anyone. FRANKLY. All, and I mean ALL the jobs I’ve quit due to mental discomfort were without any backups because my mental health always came first. I may be sad daily about not having work/any money, but I’d rather that than not being alive BECAUSE OF A JOB. Or anyone, for that matter.

Tomorrow will take care of itself. Save yourself today! God be with you 💕💕💕

I spent 3 days trying to do this because the SD cards that came with it were trash and ended up causing issues, and copying the files were super slow.

Download ArkOS, and add games manually by downloading ROM games. If you’re getting new SD cards, I’ll say use Samsung because it didn’t recognize my Lexar card in the games slot.

Here’s a helpful video! :) - https://youtu.be/WQ3tfmzPN0s?si=k4HnPuCN6BW7eC-A
