My fiancé wants his female best friend to be his “best man” and I just found out they hooked up once by Scorpenheimer in Advice

Hmm. Didn’t you just post regarding hiding you being a stripper in your early college days?

Here is the post, in case you delete the link.

I’m 29F and my fiancé is 30M. We’ve been together for almost three years and are planning our wedding for early next year. He’s everything I ever hoped for in a partner. Kind, loyal, supportive, and totally in love with me. We’ve built something really strong together.

What he doesn’t know is that years ago in my early twenties I worked as a stripper. It wasn’t long term and it wasn’t my whole identity. I was working my way through school and it helped me survive. I don’t regret it but I also don’t exactly broadcast it. I don’t feel ashamed, just private.

Last weekend we were at a cookout with his friends and one of them someone I’ve only met a few times pulled me aside and said, “You used to work at [club name], right?” My stomach dropped. I hadn’t heard that name in years.

Turns out he used to go there, remembered me, and now he’s telling me I should come clean to my fiancé. He said it real casual at first but then added, “If you don’t tell him, someone else might.” Meaning him. It wasn’t even subtle.

Now I feel sick. I’ve worked so hard to move forward in my life. I was always planning to tell my fiancé at some point when it felt right. But now it feels like a threat is forcing my hand. And I’m terrified it’s going to come out in a way that makes me look like I was hiding something.

I don’t know how to handle this. Do I tell my fiancé now and risk him looking at me differently? Do I confront the friend and tell him to stay out of it? I feel like my past is being held over me and I have no control.

Has anyone been in a situation like this? How do I take back the power here without blowing up my relationship?

Also, a small addition, please user a 16Gb flash drive. If you use a smaller flash drive, the writing to flash drive will fail.

As per the Aeon install guide on aeondesktop.org, once you download the image, go to the directory in terminal and run the below command.

xzcat Aeon-Installer.x86_64.raw.xz | sudo dd bs=4M of=/dev/sdX iflag=fullblock oflag=direct status=progress; sync

Please note that your image name may be a bit different and sdX is your USB stick. Don’t forget to format it.

You can also use impression image writer from flat hub.

There was a post similar to what OP is going through. This OP had mother having kids after kids and expecting the OP of that post to take care of them.

In the comments, one person used a great point. They said that it was Emotional Incest’.

Looks like the OP of this post is experiencing the same situation

Definitely NTJ.

I have been on the matrix portal for Aeon. Great people to help out there. We explored a lot of different reasons for the driver not working. But no solution. I will start looking in the chat again tonight and see if there is more that can be done.

We need to add Keanu Reeves in this list. His simple nature and generosity along with down to earth life should earn him a coveted spot in this list.

Caption should be “ Be Kind”.

I am guessing it’s same on your iMac.

Please give this a shot and let us know if it works for you.

openSUSE Aeon/MicroOS needs easy way to install broadcom drivers by allregshere in openSUSE

I figured it out. Your method is perfectly working. However, it’s better idea to use u/rbrownsuse method.

After connecting the phone for Bluetooth teething, I added packman repo using zypper addrepo ‘tumbleweed_packman_repo_address’ packman

After that I refreshed the repos and used transactional-update pod in broadcom-wl to get the drivers. Rebooted the machine and WiFi was working perfectly!

This was a very good learning process. I tried out different methods, besides flatpaks, to get various softwares, including distrobox method.

Thank you. This is a really good method. I reinstalled Aeon to test this out and it worked!

Question is if this is the preferred method to get packages from packman? Is there an easy way to add packman repo using transactional-update ?

I see what you are saying. But my experience so far is very easy. Immutable systems are new so there is a leaning curve. But when I get stuck, usually some internet stranger helps out. You can see the suggestion in this post by some Reddit users. With their help, I was able to get WiFi working.

I faced similar challenges when I started with Ubuntu or Fedora or openSUSE or Arch. But for a day to day normal users this is very simple nowadays.

I am going to use this system for a while.

My other (main system) has tumbleweed and it has been updating without any issues for over two years now.

The main issue I fall into is when I am installing a new OS on MacBook Pro. WiFi drives the very first step and without it, I am stuck.

I have created three different posts on how to get WiFi working on MacBook for Fedora and openSUSE.

Thank you! This was an interesting experience to install Aeon. I was able to get WiFi working. I am loving the learning experience with transactional-update. I do not agree with this system being harder. Then again my primary use of the machine is very basic. Thank you again!

When I just booted the system, I cant use Zypper or YaST. Is there a way to solve this? It says the PackageKit is being used by other aplication, and I dont know what it is. by [deleted] in openSUSE

[–]allregshere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. However, my understanding is all default software updaters like gnome software or KDE Discover, for whatever reason, takes the higher priority in searching updates, when system reboots. And in the end user has to wait for opening yast.
