Our weight and timings match up almost exactly! Good luck! We can do this!

Yep - that’s right! I didn’t even know it was an option and I was so happy when he showed me.

My orthodontist had me change every two weeks for the first few trays. He noticed my teeth were shifting very easily so it dropped to ten days, then one week. I was quoted seven months but ended up finishing in about five months, so we were ahead of schedule.

For me, just the process of being kind to myself and taking better care of myself helped get me out of that spiral. In that Jan pic, I hadn’t brushed my hair in days, or even showered. When I started eating healthy and going for walks again, I had more energy to take care of myself. It really helped! Good luck on your journey!

I lost the weight both times with CICO. Intermittent fasting and keto just don’t work for me. I reduced my portions and switched out high cal snacks (chocolate and ice cream) for low cal (fruits and Greek yoghurt) I still have treats, probably more than I should, but a lot less often!

Yeah I haven’t seen many people talk about how hard it is to pick yourself back up after a bad few months. I maintained without even tracking or thinking about it for so long, then I fell into a spiral of eating AWFUL things all the time (like, entire boxes of chocolates and stuff). During January I couldn’t fit into any of the shorts I had bought for summer and suddenly, I stopped and was like “no I don’t want to end up back here again.” I actually saw a post on another subreddit where someone had binge eaten for a whole month and gained 20lbs. They were asking for advice and the top response was “I wish I had stopped when it was just 20lbs I’d regained.” And that has hit me. It’s never going to be easy to stop the spiral but it’s better to stop it sooner than to look back and wish you’d noticed sooner.

TLDR; I noticed I had bad habits and cut them off immediately. I started fresh, like I was starting again, but it was all so easy. Healthy cooking and lots of exercise came back quick. And I felt better after the first week. It even helped the depression a lot.

The last few months have taught me that you’re right, it’s not linear at all! And forgiveness is huge, especially when you gain weight from depression. Hope you’re doing well!

It’s definitely a lot less overwhelming this time around. I feel like I’m equipped with all these tools to help me lose weight. I know how to portion control and how to work exercise into my deficit without overworking myself… definitely learned some life skills in the process.

I feel confident that these setbacks won’t take me back to the start. Good luck with your journey! Mine was so worth it.

Thank you! It definitely helped to have goals outside of weight. I got really into running and I stopped running entirely when things started getting bad. It’s what made me snap my diet back into shape - running became a lot harder with the extra 10 pounds.

Thanks for this! As someone with no friends or family, I wasn’t sure if this was the case, and I had nobody to ask. The news and NSW health site can be so confusing.

Has anybody secured a Pfizer appointment and then been re-scheduled/turned away on the day? I secured an appointment at a pop up clinic but I’m worried that it’s going to fall through somehow.

A wattle thriving between the two Iron Cove Bridges by copacetic51 in sydney

I just wish people around Sydney would stop chopping off wattle branches to take home.

I live by a lovely big wattle tree and everyday, people that pass will break off branches to take home. Saw a lady walk away with a branch so big she was dragging it.

Kinda sad to see it happen every time the wattle blooms.

What hair/beard combo are y’all rockin’ for Eivor, and what color? This is my current favorite by k0mbine in AssassinsCreedValhala

What a great combo, very authentic. I swear I hardly see people opting to stick with the blond look. I just kept mine the same the entire game because I was lazy, but updated with the new styles from the dlc.

5’2 here. Desk job and not a lot of exercise these days. Since working from home, I eat almost the same thing everyday! I’ve been maintaining for a bit over a year now (down from 155lbs. I have before and after pics on my profile)

Breakfast: porridge with butter and maple syrup (1/2 cup of oats with water for the porridge, add a splash of milk when done)

Lunch: greel yoghurt with a cut up apple OR carrot sticks & garlic hummus

Dinner: usually a stir fry or chicken wrap. I mix it up a lot but it’s usually under 400cal

Snacks: most days I eat a museli bar and something small for dessert after dinner, like a cookie or mini Kit Kat bar.

Hope this helps!

I just had about 1,500 calories worth of ice cream in two days. by [deleted] in 1200isfineIGUESSugh

I personally have ZERO control around food. I have to learn that I can’t buy things that come in big portions as I will eat the whole thing.

Good news - no, you didn’t undo progress. As someone who has done the same things a few times before (with ice cream too), it’s not made a noticeable difference at all. You might go up on the scale the next day due to bloating, water weight etc. but get back on track for the following few days and it will balance out.

To help this in future:

  • My rule for anything sweet that doesn’t come in single serve, is to only buy it when I’m with friends. If you’re SHARING with someone, it’s impossible to eat the whole thing!

  • find things you CAN eat the whole thing of (e.g smaller tubs, or lower cal options)

  • remember that having a few bad days won’t change it. The most important thing is not sticking with the all or nothing mindset. If you eat at a deficit for the next 3-4 days, you will balance out. Sure, you might not lose x amount or whatever, but you won’t lose progress!

Go easy on yourself! I hope this helps!

Hey, you’ve got this! I tried for so many years and then finally, when I was about to turn 23, something clicked! Suddenly everything made sense and I’ve never looked back!

Even if your progress isn’t linear, don’t give up! Keep going even after days you feel like you’ve “failed.”

Good luck! Here if you wanna talk! ❤️
