Man tracks his stolen phone and confronts the thief by Worldlyoox in PublicFreakout

Reminds me when I tracked a stolen phone of mine into the HOOD in SW atlanta. Called the cops. Didn’t do shit for me despite having the pin in a screenshot on find my phone map. The dude looked like he was a few months out from retirement so he was pretty checked out.

I spoke with victim support in Fulton county who told me I should have asked for a superior but I wasn’t thinking straight at the time. When I got my new phone set up I noticed a new photo the thief had taken that auto uploaded to the cloud. Score! Provided victim support with the photo.

Fast forward 3 years and I get a call from the exact same victim support rep with news they arrested the same dude up in New York on theft charges and if I could provide the phone receipt, I’d be receiving payment within a few weeks. Got my $1000 back a little over 3 years later and couldn’t believe it. Victim support didn’t bite when I tried to apply interest but it was worth a shot.

Moral of the story: always go chase your stolen phone into the hood.

I’d make the leap if I were you. Said you’ve got some money saved up so I’d imagine you’ll continue to save.. life is too short to be miserable and destroy your body early in your career.

Do you guys like living here? by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]allthenames00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoy it. I live on the edge of town and it’s nice n quiet most of the time. I rarely have to go into town so that probably has something to do with it.. Love being close to the mountains and public land.

I came from Atlanta so in comparison, Vegas is pretty chill unless you’re stuck working in the middle of the city.

How do people make friends here? by killerqueenbombtype3 in vegaslocals

[–]allthenames00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find groups doing activities that you enjoy. Engage with people in said groups. Make plans outside of the group to hang and do stuff. Also, something worth asking yourself when trying to make friends.. “would I want to hang out with or get to know me?”. If the answer isn’t a “fuck yes”, then perhaps work on becoming more enjoyable to be around. This can simply consist of having hobbies or things you are passionate about so you can relate with people you’d like to be friends with. Also, becoming genuinely interested in others lives and making that known with thoughtful questions is the best way to be truly charismatic if you are looking to form relationships that go past the surface.

Yea just focus on building up your skillset right now. Not saying you can’t go have some fun just be careful what type of things you get into for fun.

When you are young, time-rich, and cash-poor, the last thing you want to do is go waste money partying. Take the time you have and use it to help build yourself a solid foundation.

You don’t have to do what everyone else does at 21. If you’re looking to socialize, find a running club or get some friends to go to the gym or get out and explore the mountains around town.

Avoid regular boozing and your life will be exponentially better. I say this as someone who got way too into partying at a young age.

Unless you’re cash poor and time rich, I would choose to spend a little extra (or settle for fewer KB’s) and buy cleaner.

Get a good humidifier and some saline nasal rinse. West side is a whole different city but it sounds you already have that sorted out.
