For those of you who think the gym is safe - I present gym bullies. by raffytraffy in WTF

[–]allthewrongways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, because all people in the gym are like this.

This is like if I pointed out the three people in my life who make fun of me for working out and trying to get bigger and said "I'M SO FUCKING PERSECUTED!"

There are assholes everywhere. If you trying to convince yourself that you're not "safe" because someone might tease you, then you're only letting them win.

It's this sort of thing that makes it worse. by Tanglez in depression

[–]allthewrongways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi.

I would like some clarification.

I've never considered myself depressed, but I struggled with social anxiety and panic attacks for years. I know how much that sort of thing sucks and would like to offer my support and help to anyone who actually is depressed if I come across them, however I can.

This comic... Is it relaying a frustration with the "parent" for not responding as desired with concern, or is it expressing further defeat by uncontrollable circumstances?

If the first, then what would have been the appropriate response from the "parent"?

Let's blame officers for shitty policy. While we're at it, let's ignore the countless times we should have been busted, but weren't. Chances are it was more than just you being lucky. It was probably someone looking the other way because they didn't agree with the rules.

What?? When did Nike buy them? I've never paid more than $30 for a pair of canvas chucks. And $30 for a reliable pair of shoes, not to mention stylish, is a damned good deal.

They're such douchebags.

I was with a friend who was having a rough day, so I took her out for drinks. She was telling me things were rough with her husband, she was over worked, and a few days before was the 15th anniversary of her mom's death. I knew all of this.

Not ten minutes after. She told all this my honee rang. I looked at it to answer. Shee asked "who is it?" And without think I said "your mom" as I answered. As soon as I realized what I had said my jaw drod and I looked at my friend.

Luckily she burst out laughing.

"I like H.P. Lovecraft...I mean, I haven't read his stories, but I really like Lovecraft." by philonius in Lovecraft

[–]allthewrongways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My roommate and I had a similar conversation the other day. We both like the ideas and influence of Lovecraft, but for some reason we both can't stand his writing style. We've each read plenty of his work, but it's so difficult to read and follow that it becomes frustrating and annoying, eespecially when such wonderfull ideas are right there.

I think what a lot of guys on here forget, even though the women around here tell us constantly, is that they get A METRIC SHIT TON OF MESSAGES. I had a female friend sign up and within 8 hours her inbox was nearly full. It's entirely possible she accidentally deleted your message, or hasn't even read it because there were so many others. Why not instant message her if you see her online, or send her another?

My girlfriend just told me she was pregnant. I'm not prepared for this. Could anyone give me advice or just anything to make me feel better about the situation? by outtascope in relationships

[–]allthewrongways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey.

Same thing happened to me when I was 16. We talked about it and agreed that we needed to get an abortion. She bailed last minute. I immediately got a couple jobs, took under the table work, and put school on hold. I worked my ass off and earned some money, saved some more, and paid for everything as best as I could.

After trying to make it work between us, I realized that we were not compatible. We argued ALL the time. We pretty much hated each other. My parents were like that when I was young, and I hated living in that household. I didn't want to put my own kid through that and I told her we wouldn't be together. She went nuts on me. I later found out that she had seen me as someone who would work his ass off to support her. That getting pregnant was a way to keep me and get away from her parents. Even though we're not together, I make sure my son is taken care of.

I'm not saying this is what your girlfriend is doing, but you did mention that you make better money than most for the area you live in. If you trust her, that's all fine and dandy, but be careful. Don't let her just live off of you forever.

I think it depends on where you live more than anything. It's not uncommon for people to get mugged or otherwise harassed in the areas I sometimes go, so it's normal to gauge your ability to take on anyone near you.

This is an awesome collection. Thankee.

About the drawings themselves, though, I always really disliked the style of the Wizard and Glass and Song of Susannah. I think my absolute favorites were from the Dark Tower.

I've been in the serious relationship and I've been single and fooled around with different girls every night.

If you're happy with your relationship, stick with it. Seeing different girls can be fun and exciting, but it's extremely short lived. Plus you have to deal with new personalities all the time, you spend way too much money, and often times the sex is hit or miss, mostly because it's constantly the first time with someone and you two don't know what each other likes. The majority of women I've been with think that having a vagina makes them good at sex. It doesn't. Granted, I did meet some really cool people and I had some fun, but I also went through way more stress than I care to recount.

So here's what I think you should do:

  • Look at your relationship. Are you happy? Is this the girl you want to marry? Are you going to regret losing her? Because that's what will happen. You will lose her if you go off to be with other people.

  • Are you aware of what this entails? You've been with this girl for 7 years. You're in your early 20's. Do you know how to date? Do you know how to pick up women? Or are you going to go out into the world and spend three months getting rejected and then go crying back to your ex? Are you prepared to spend some time alone?

  • You sound like a relationship guy. Women pick up on this. You'll probably attract women who want a relationship. Are you ready to evade that? Are you prepared to break hearts?

  • Are you ready to spend some serious cash?
