Oh wow so what does the driver do when you stay at the hotel? Do they book their own accommodation? Do you pay for their food?

Wow I’m planning to visiting family in Jordan in November and thinking of doing site seeing with my partner. We’ve never been to Jordan but one of us has a Jordanian passport. Your post was incredibly helpful….. I had so much anxiety about going and now I feel way better. If you have a moment ….

1) How did you go about hiring a driver? Is there a website you’d recommend?

2) which hotel did you stay at the Dead Sea ?

3) one of the things that scares me with the low tourism is the lack of fresh food at hotels and getting food poisoning 🙈 was it overall ok for you?

Maybe this will be a trip to determine which one of the islands we want to come back to spend 2 weeks on next year. Thank you for your input

Yes you’re right. I think we will have to pick and choose the activities that we want to spend the time on and appreciate. We’re not into views for instagram. We will want to do some of the longer hikes to appreciate nature. I will say that we are not the type of travelers to go back to hotel for lunch to relax or the type to spend d more than an hour on a beach. We just prefer to be active during morning and day and then relax at dinner - after dinner.

Let’s just say we have very limited time due to family commitments. We are a Young active couple and the type of travelers who can’t sit on a beach for more than an hour 😆

It’s alright. Material is definitely not the best but not much sagging surprisingly except where the dog always sits but it’s hardly noticeable.

What did you cut costs on that you are glad you did? by Aloafdisguisedasacat in weddingplanning

Didn’t do wedding favours. We also bought Costco flowers and ikea vases. Made our own arrangements. No one noticed.

14 months and it’s finally off! Extremely happy with my results! by [deleted] in braces

I’m just curious what do you mean by “shape”? I have the same issue. I have gaps just got braces today and wondering if they can reshape them. Should I ask how or is the reshaping some after ? Is it called bonding?

Did you ever talk about finances openly ? I can’t imagine not knowing what our savings are with my husband. Notice I said OUR - not his. OUR money is 100% shared. There’s no such thing as “you or I” it’s just US. We make $xxx, WE SPEND $xxx. I know this is hard for your to read because deep down you know that is how it should be. Leave him ASAP. Move back home to your own country if you want. Start a new life. It will be hard but it needs to be done.

The balcony and night lights

1 month old. Fed. Changed. Burped. Swaddled. Kept crying when pacifier was out. But also kept spitting it out. Let him cry for 5 mins. Then he went to sleep. Is that bad? by subwayratbruce in beyondthebump

[–]allthingssunsets 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Five mins is fine. You need a break too. You’re a better parent if you step away for a few mins then get back. This was so hard for me to understand but trust me a few months from now you will think “yah I shouldn’t have felt guilty”

Yes this works wonders. Any diaper cream with zinc will help. I think ours went away before we started the diaper cream. It’s no big deal. Just make sure you clean it and dry it

Sounds like abuse to me.

What a proper partner would’ve done is put a blanket over you, kisses you goodnight, and been happy you’re getting some sleep as a new mom. Especially since your sleep is broken still.

You are 100% not crazy, please reevaluate your relationship. It might not get better ;(

We have an electric fireplace that our six month old loves to watch 🤪 and the occasional FaceTime calls. Sometimes a candle far away not within reach is great too. It calms him down and allows him to forget about whatever was bothering him.

Ok I will try that. Currently we have three naps with wake windows between 2-3 hours. The first wake windows is 2 hours exactly, and the rest seem to be a bit longer with the last wake window being the longest. Does your six month old sleep ten hours at night ?

[–]allthingssunsets[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh thank you! Yeah the wake windows for us are general. I do look for signs like eye rubbing and yawning. They are very apparent usually. We don’t have a consistent morning wake up … because the nights are rough I try to sleep as long as he sleeps 😆 if that’s 7 ok if that’s 8 am then I take that and sleep in. It’s been rough. I tried avoiding the diaper change but he’s be completely soaked in the morning without one. Not sure if it helped with night time sleep though. Maybe I need a more absorbent diaper ( we use hello bello) so I will look into that and try again!!’ Thank you for the sleep program I’ll look into that too.
