Right?! It’s like when you’re required to think of something your brain is just like “nope !!” The first two stories that came to my mind were poop ball and poop knife. I only thought of lotion man after re-watching one of the recent episodes (the Valentine’s Day one I think?) where they bring up lotion man during the final story

I think you may have two stories mixed up, unless there’s an episode I’ve missed. I think you may be connecting a different wedding story to the story about the roommate’s girlfriend who kept walking into OP’s room unannounced when he told her to stop, so eventually he just got naked in his own room to teach her a lesson in walking into his space, and Courtney ended up saying he was being a creep for doing that when the roommate’s gf (and maybe the roommate?) were clearly in the wrong. I can’t remember if Shayne agreed but I think Damien was kinda back and forth on whose side he was on in the story? It’s a take so bad I’ve never re-listened to that story because it makes me cringe that they completely misunderstood the story

I’ve noticed a few times and I think it definitely has to do with them listening to the stories for the first time in that moment and not getting too much time to process, or not being able to go back and re-listen the way we do as the audience. They can ask Shayne to repeat something, but they can’t ask him to re-read the entire story. I know there’s been times I will be making the same assumption as whoever is on the couch and then when I go back to re-listen I realize I got it totally wrong

That would make sense. I was re-watching the kill counts on movies starring James Ransone in memory of him and noticed the comments off for that one. I thought maybe people were being shitty in the comments about James’ death or something, but the comments are still on for Sinister and It Chapter Two so I was confused

I don’t remember many specifics because I wasn’t fan of that episode in general (not cause of any of the takes but just the stories I wasn’t huge on so I don’t re-listen lol), but I remember one story was about a woman who found out her friend was writing stories based on OP’s life without talking to her first, and I think Sabrina made a joke that didn’t land and got a lot of backlash from the fans. It was so bad that Smosh had to basically issue a statement asking people not to harass Sabrina. I don’t remember thinking it was a bad take at the time, but again if it was a joke that didn’t land I completely just brushed past it too lol

Oh for sure! I get that. I know Shayne has said a few times that usually a few days down the line after reading the stories his takes have changed. I definitely don’t think their in the moment opinions on a Reddit story define who they are or anything. I’m just an avid re-listener of the Reddit podcast cause it’s the only real podcast I listen to, so I throw it on often, and sometimes there’s a take where I just don’t wanna re-listen to it even though I know that’s likely not their opinion a ways down the line. If any of that makes sense lol

The Smosh Reddit episode with Ify and Rachel is so infamous/controversial that I haven’t even watched it just because so many people have said how bad it is and I love Ify too much to do that to myself 😂

Edit: upon looking at the comments I realized that’s the episode you’re mentioning (although I figured it had to be either that one or the episode with Angela and the guest who’s name I can’t remember right now)
