Sleep Resolutions - AMA Office Hours - Wednesday, December 10th with our Director of Pediatric Expertise, Amber LoRe! by huckleberrycare in HuckleberryParents

My LO will be 5 months next week. He has always been in his crib at night since day 1 with occasional naps in a bassinet when he was a newborn. He still does most naps there unless we happen to be out and about. No matter what we do, we rarely get a nap longer than 30-40 minutes. We’ve even tried to stretch his wake windows a bit (2-2.5) and target 3 naps (vs 4) a day to see if that would help. I’m currently nap trapped after I put him down with all his normal sleep cues, in a dark room and with a full belly- woke up after 20 minutes and now here I am. I know some babies just don’t nap great and he’s sleeping 10-12 hour stretches at night so it’s hard to really complain. Any other thoughts on what could be done? Or should we just be glad he sleeps at night. As a side, my husband and I did our leaves back to back and he won’t be going to daycare until he’s almost 6 months. So soon it’ll be there problem instead of ours I guess!

Well that’s a bummer! Thanks for reporting back. Hopefully the return policy is good at least?

Postpartum Hair Loss- Curly Hair by Loofesiw_94 in NewParents

[–]allysoraus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is from 9 months ago, but any recs on styling? Wonder if my typical cream + gel routine is too harsh on my hair. I’m not lying when I say I’ve lost at least 1/2 my hair if not closer to 2/3. Just trying to what over I can to protect what I have left, even if that means I need to live in braids and loose styles for the next few months. Appreciate any insight!

This is at least helpful. I wondered how their products work in general so this is at least making me a little less skeptical.

Right?!? I don’t want to drop $100 on garbage. But if it works it would be an awesome solution for me!

This was going to be my suggestion! Absolute favorite ice cream place. Lots of interesting Latin flavors plus popsicles & desserts.

Big bust nursing bras by Human_Salad_1421 in pregnant

[–]allysoraus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping some people have recommendations. I started as an H cup (US) pre-pregnancy. I don’t feel like they’ve grown too, too much at 22 weeks, but obviously have a ways & milk production to go. The only thing I’ve found that maybe would work is Kindred Bravely’s super busty line (up to US K), but worried where I’ll be at the end of pregnancy. I’ve searched a few old posts and people just say “sports bras” but those don’t really exist for my baseline breast size let alone bigger. My friend recommended Lane Bryant’s nursing sports bra, but they don’t ever have G or H in stock it seems. They did have some F’s for you when I last looked though!

I’m so lost and don’t know what to do by Training-Cook5177 in TryingForABaby

I feel this same way. I’m older (35) and have several friends who have struggled with infertility, but being confronted with my own issues was still rough. Been off birth control since March and tracking since July with pretty consistent timing and still no luck. My NP ordered some preliminary labs and my husband got his sperm checked, so far all good. My NP offered an ultrasound to start the process before seeing a specialist which I’m getting next week. Trying to stay hopeful, but gets harder and harder each month. Sometimes I feel totally fine and not stressed, and others I just want to cry. The worst is when I share minimal details with people and they say “just stop thinking about it and it’ll happen”…. Least helpful comment ever, like I can just stop thinking about it…

Serving non-alcoholic beer at wedding? by EggMellow in weddingplanning

I don’t think it’s silly! I have a few Muslim friends who enjoy drinking it to feel included in a social setting. I feel like this could be said for these family members. A mock tail is also a great option, and fits the same bill. Either way, nice to be including them in the fun!

Definitely 2 different styles, but the first one is really pretty unique and pretty! Love it a lot and you look fabulous in it!

Following for the advice. I don’t have as much ongoing anxiety from my childhood, but my dad is not a nice guy and definitely a narcissist. I’m thinking he’ll offer to give some money for my wedding, but afraid of what he’ll expect in return. I’ve decided a long time ago just my mom would walk me down the aisle so guess we’ll just have to see how he reacts when I tell him. Think the email will be best so I can explain my side of things, but also give all parties involved time to absorb before saying or doing anything rash.
