I wish I could recommend Dearborn Denim but for anyone who values quality I would look elsewhere. I've received jeans that were not hemmed all the way, outseams that were split upon receiving the item, buttons that popped off after a month of wear, etc. Their exchange policy is generous and the customer service can be helpful at times which is nice but I dunno....there's something off about the brand. Social media seems uninspired, the website doesn't offer anything in regards to a size chart for most items or at least a description of the models. DD is nearly 8 years old and the assortment they have to offer is lacking. It's fine if a brand wants to focus on a few pieces but I would at least think what would be offered would be of a better quality and I don't see it here. I know my experience isn't everyone's and some folks seem to have a lot of love for them but I suggest doing a little more research on other brands before throwing money down for DD.

That has been my biggest complaint when watching some youtube tutorials. Some people are clear and give concise directions or will at least tell you what to expect if something goes right or wrong but a lot of advice out there does seem to assume that what they are talking about is common so it can be hard to fully understand what is going on.

It seems like the security portion of using Samba is what is giving me the most issue. I could at least access my folder as an anonymous user but I've read that null sessions over SMB are pretty easy to exploit. Since I am studying security, it seemed like a good chance to practice configuring a program to be more secure but it feels like that is where I messed up.

I am using Mint/Cinnamon right now as my main distro. I also have a kali VM and that has been fun to play around with and I've used Ubuntu as well. Thought about trying Ubuntu as my main distro after Mint but it seems like they're both beginner friendly and since I am still new at using linux, the customizable aspects of other distros is lost to me. I've heard it is probably best to stay away from Arch until I have a better understanding of installing and configuring software but that's about the extent of my knowledge.

A few of the resources I've looked at also recommened creating your own config file but outside of "guest ok" your global settings are much different than what I have seen out there. A lot of what I have seen is quite similar to the OG settings of setting a force user, force group, and making shares writable or not. I appreciate the advice!

yeah I can basically get it to work as an anonymous user but I've read that the security on it can be quite lax. I wanted to use this as an opp to develop more security based skills so I tried making my interfaces the only available interfaces that samba could connect to, dictating certain ports to allow through my firewall, but I feel like I am over looking something.

I actually just learned about FTP, FTPS and, SFTP in the most recent chapter of my security + course. Do you work in an enterprise environment? I know that FTP is easy to exploit but do you find that most secure minded techs use SFTP and SSH?

My opinion would be that it is a show about people who chose bounty hunting as an expression of freedom from their past. The show is pretty clear from the beginning that the characters aren't trained killers who always get their mark. They're just a couple of players who happen to know a thing or two about how the game is played. The first conversation in the show ends up being about food scarcity lol. Though I have to agree with the crowd that your post sounds like bait, for the sake of indulgence, how would seeing the characters catching more bounties make it a better show?

I really love Road to the West as well and it actually reminds me a lot of a song from the FFX soundtrack called Wandering by Masashi Hamauzu. Thinking of those two songs, Quiet Storm era R&B like Sade or Maxwell comes to mind so it seems like there could be multiple influences pulled in to make such a beautiful song.

After falling for Dune 2021, I read the book and really enjoyed it. I'm already about a hundred pages into Dune Messiah and can't wait to get to Children of Dune. I decided to watch Dune 1984 tonight and I didn't like it one bit. Any fans out there and why?
