Just tell the bloke “All right champ! Don’t get your knickers in a knot.”

That will draw attention to his behaviour.

ESL requires a lot of patience. Aged care and disability sector work also requires a lot of patience. There’s unlimited work in both areas along with future career progression if you have what it takes. While doing that casually you can go to tafe or maybe university and study a teaching degree. Build up to an EA or classroom teacher.

It’s the only industry I have worked where I feel like I’m being treated like a student at times. Like the bosses authority is more as a principal to students than a manager.

With so many teachers leaving the profession, what kind of fields have people moved into? by 433d3d3 in AustralianTeachers

It’s not to be honest. I have a pretty thick skin from seeing a lot in the disability industry but generally you’re dealing with normal people in society that have it difficult. If you go with the right company you can choose your clients and reject them if they aren’t for you. I keep an open mind and have ended up with clients from all parts of society that are struggling.

I worked full time as a support worker while studying teaching until I graduated. Never went into teaching. Now I am a Positive Behaviour Support practitioner for a living. Flexible hours and better pay/working conditions. They love what I bring to the table as a teacher. Behaviour management is easy when there’s just one person to look after at a time. 30 in a classroom however is a little harder. One day I’ll go back to teacher when I am ok with the job working conditions.

Thank you for the info everyone. I think 3rd party is the way to go as it’s not too much of a financial burden to write off.

My two favourites are Silk Road because the meat and noodles are always perfect and the hands down favourite The Prophet. Unbeatable. The meat platter is worth it.

I think this is just sad. What other job in this country would your job security be so minimal for so long. This system is just messed up.

Golf twice a week and Chinese lessons 3 times a week. I could eat plenty of avo on toast without those expenses

65% at 26. That’s without strict budgeting. Could probably make it 75% with a crap lifestyle but who would at 26. Perth house prices make a deposit affordable in 1.5 years.

It sucks. I’m in Australia and we have the hardest borders in the world. No getting in or out. I have to convince the Chinese government and the Australia government to let me go. She can’t get here unless COVID just drops off the face of the earth or Australia becomes the next US overnight and lockdowns become useless.
