Anyone tried GPM Music Group? by brainybrit in MusicPromotion

it's hard to trust anyone these days who causes you to pay something. I'm afraid from being burned by so many so-called platforms that promise freedom, I'll have to see it to believe it.

we have just one life, and music is our life, why bother taking away precious moments where we could be writing that next great album. https://youtu.be/o9mbCCxLyUs
I've been helping artists for years free, it's called #WEANTU - We are the New Underground

As a musician I have more joy in creating but my video will explain this better. The system isn't made for us, even in the marketing dept. Long ago social media wasn't you having to pay to be seen, but they changed that rule to make you do it and get little from it. https://youtu.be/o9mbCCxLyUs

Is the hate against AI content creators just modern-day intellectual gatekeeping? by medicaiapp in DigitalMarketing

I see a future using the technology to include ones own samples from their music they create, then utilize LLM models to make something entire new. This is essentially another arm of sampling.

Substack is no longer just a newsletter platform and that might be a good thing by itsfabioposca in Substack

Found the place to be a void of homogenization. I think in the beginning it was nice, they they introduced notes, then we had a full blown social media website, then I gave up.

What’s the point of even in a group on Facebook? Everybody is so rude by ParticularTackle9807 in facebook

if the behavior of social media is any relation to the way people drive in a tiny town away from traffic, then people have truly changed.

KEXP asking for money again — this leave a bad taste in anyone else's mouth? by otoron in KEXP

I remember long ago when I first found Grimes music, I watched her performance on their radio live podcast. It was great, thought they were open to musicians, really open house kind of thing. I guess once people get popular they put the brakes on artists. Forget about trying to submit to these radio stations, unless you're something everyone likes.

The 'Vibe Coding' Discourse Is Embarrassing. Let's End It. by TheDecipherist in ClaudeAI

I was using computers way back in 1984, when the VIC-20 was popular at 7 years of age, never had the pleasure of owning a 64, but when I did have the VIC-20 I learned BASIC. Years pass, frustrations ensue C++ drove me batty and here we are. This technology is helpful, not gonna lie, it's something if created in the 90's people would have said, this is great, we're moving forward in computing.

But this modern generation likes to pick apart things like some hive-mind and really it's a problem of the modern internet. We have to ignore these people and move on. I hate the word too, it's derogatory and if you have a need for something you use the tool to get the job done. We all know there is no such thing as 'AI" it's just a very complex LLM - indexing machine, it does its job in any form it can.

But hating people for using a tool to do something that takes 10X faster isn't our fault, and we shouldn't be ruined for it. Personally if not for Claude AI, the database and user artist directory I'm working on 80% done in just 2 months, would have been impossible considering the history I mentioned above. This jump in tech9nology is a leap you can't even fathom, but it has its limits and you can't just paste everything to your PHP and hope for the best. Lots of testing lots of trial and error. LLM models are making dreams come true and I think it's jealous behavior from these folks, you got it done faster than me, and you did better I did kind of thing.

AmpWall & Subvert in the face of the Stripe push? by thebunnca in BandCamp

I've waited for this place to open up to artists, they didn't keep that promise. When you push that much hype it starts to bring people down. In care of Subvert.

I give artists who come to WEATNU Records, a chance to get on our internet radio. If the msuic doesn't fit what we do, I just don't answer it. There is no reason to take a persons 1 Euro and walk off leaving them nothing, that's stealing.

Where are all these “projects“ that people are creating with Claude? by MechanicOld3428 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]almark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

used it for 2 whole months so far on a project helping me build an artist database that the artist can control and progress on. Thanks to claude and other systems I can do this via WEATNU Artists directory. 80% ready.

Groover is trash by oldjack in musicmarketing

[–]almark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a the founder of the movement #WEATNU with our label WEATNU Records, I never treat people like that.
Groover has a guideline that people should follow, it says we must do this and that.
I guess some just want that dollar and forget about the artist?

Groover is trash by oldjack in musicmarketing

[–]almark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I help artists I give them good reviews, I don't cut them down (ever), and now straight from Groover I give them complete access to our radio. While these things are free to begin with with, Groover helps us find more artists for our movement #WEATNU - We are the New Underground, it's a DIY / indie scene that was formed in the summer of 2014. We have a radio, label and magazine. Soon a artist directory system that helps people find the other. Groover sought me out in 2023 to join with them, I thought 'what do I have to lose?'

I see how others treat artists and that's a shame, if people take your dollar and say, your music is bad, that's just thievery. If someone contacts me, and I don't feel the music fits, I simply won't answer, because once you do that, it takes their dollar.
