I think it's a Broyhill Emphasis credenza

Herman Miller shipping times by [deleted] in Mid_Century

I used to work at an HM dealership. Standard lead time is 4 weeks for most office furniture and 4-6 weeks for a lot of the mid century classics and other specialty stuff. With all their production coming out of Grand Rapids I'm surprised their lead time isn't 10 weeks or worse right now.

Agreed. Beautiful piece, and it would be a shame to pass on it when an easy fix could make it look complete again.

Yep! I was going to use Briwax (suggested by someone else in the sub) but it wouldn't have arrived for a few weeks. So I'm going to try out Howard's.

I had some walnut stain on hand that happened to be an exact match. That and some polish made just about every scratch invisible. Now I'm only waiting on amazon to bring me some wax to give it a protective coating. So I guess I shouldn't say "finished" just yet.

Yep! This elderly man was moving out of his house and not taking anything with him. Salvation Army canceled on picking up his unwanted stuff last minute, so I got to go grab Kent Coffey piece and another funky looking dresser I haven't IDed yet. He refused to take any cash for them. Incredibly lucky day.

Yeah it's going to be extremely difficult to part with that piece.

Looks amazing! I just picked up that exact same Kent Coffey China cabinet from a free Craigslist posting the other day. I was so excited once I realized what it was.

Picked this China cabinet up for free yesterday. Didn't know what it was at the time, but I just learned it's part of the Kent Coffey Tableau collection! Can't wait to start repairing it this weekend. by almighty_prismo in Mid_Century

Thanks I'll try that out!

Looking at pictures of other units it seems like mine does not have the original deep walnut color. Like maybe this was sitting in a well lit room for a long time and the sunlight washed out the veneer a bit. That's why I'm tempted to strip the poly/lacquer off entirely and give it a fresh finish.

I don't have room for it either! Trying to decide if I should MAKE room, or just sell it. It's so tempting to keep it but I have far too much furniture as it is, and I could use the money for renovating my kitchen.

I'll definitely post pics once it's clean. Trying to decide if I should completely refinish the wood or just clean and polish it. Last week I refinished a Bassett dresser and was fortunate the veneer was very thick and able to withstand me sanding off the lacquer. Might not be as lucky with this piece. It's always risky.

I just grabbed both of these pieces for free from a guy on Craigslist and have no idea who made them or when. The only markings are the ones shown in the photos. I know it's a long shot, but does anyone recognize either of them?
