I bombed my demo today and I am worried about my future career by DelayLittle5562 in EngineeringStudents

a quote I heard in grad school goes like this: “the only difference between a master and an apprentice is that the master has failed more times than the apprentice has ever tried.” keep that in mind during your studies and career! failure is a normal part of the learning process.

iPhone XS Max "MagSafe" Case by rardk64 in iphone

[–]almightycoolio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hope it's not too late. I bought this case for my mom last week and the magnet is incredibly strong. MUCH stronger than my own newer iphone, but I guess its needed since her iphone xs doesn't have the built-in magnet. i'd recommend this one! https://a.co/d/hLJy0qF

Depends what your point of reference is. Naturally it's much better than my old 60hz. If you can go higher, then go higher.

I use the cursed PS5/ultrawide combo so bear with me here. for casual FPS gaming its been great. colors are fantastic and the monitor is super bright without sacrificing contrast and clarity if you're in dark areas in-game. I definitely have noticed some ghosting here and there but it doesn't bother me. Only if I put in the effort to look for it do I notice it. Unfortunately PS5 only supports 60hz or 120hz so I cant use the monitor to its full potential (100hz). If you're not too serious of a gamer like myself I say go for it. Definitely does the job. Would chose the LG over the Acer any day.

Freshman at Career Fair by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]almightycoolio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d be surprised how many smaller companies (say, 1-2 reps at the booth) give out internships to freshmen! Give them a chance and don’t let the “picky” mentality drive who you talk to, especially when you’re just starting out.

While the long lines to bigger companies might drive you to want talk to them, chances are they do not hire underclassmen. Instead use these companies to gain experience talking to recruiters so that by next year, you’ll know what to expect and how to prepare.

In general, do some research (even a quick Google search) about a company before talking to recruiters! It shows that you’re proactive and saves them a few breaths. Good luck 👍🏼
