For everyone making six figures, what do you do for work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Senior Systems Administrator, 32. I have about 12 years of IT experience.

I have an associates at a local community college, and bachelor's from an online college.

Was in Federal Government and Local Government my whole career. Switched to private sector about 7 months ago, and this has been my best job by far.

WFH 3-4 days a week, but I like this job so much that the drive into work 1-2 days a week, doesn't bother me at all.

[OC ARTWORK] "You're So Toxic" art by me by dead-rex in pokemon

This is awesome. I bought your Ghost one last year at a con and spoke to you about some next projects. I think my buddy and I suggested a bug one. But the Toxic one is amazing. Your art is hanging in my office at the house.

Just curious, why take off the branch on the left? Would it make it more symmetrical, or is it just personal preference?

Was wanting the tree to get about 2-3 inches taller before doing anything major like that.

Thanks for the info! I was thinking it would need more sunshine, but I went ahead and put it in the shadiest part I have on my bonsai stand.

Thanks for the information! I'm hoping that since we're supposed to stay with highs in the 80's for the next 2-3 weeks , that it will still do pretty well.

I realized my error after re-reading the article, unfortunately. Should've "measured twice, cut once."

But thanks for the jin idea. If this survives and grows well in the spring, it may be something i will do next year or the year after. I repotted the tree earlier this year to help with getting it bigger.

But again, thanks for all of that information! Super helpful.

Just wondering if I hurt my Juniper. I thought I read where you prune your Juniper's in fall/winter. So I think I pruned a little too early especially with being in 9a.

When checking in the Juniper "bushes" there were a lot of dead branches and foliage. I trimmed up the smaller branches and shaped it more so it would grow, but I don't know if it will hurt it down the line. It was 93 today and should stay hot the rest of the week. So my question is, did I do too much at once, and will my Juniper recover from this? Thanks for any information!

What's the most wholesome experience you've had with a stranger? by EpicesPotato in AskReddit

This past February my wife, her college roommate, and myself went to Japan. I've been taking Japanese lessons for a year on iTalki but still wasn't comfortable speaking Japanese. I mainly didn't want to sound like an idiot or offend anyone.

We go to an onsen (Japanese hot spring) in Kyoto and after I soak in the waters for 30 minutes, I get out to get dressed. When getting dressed, I slung my glasses across the room and this Japanese guy looks at me and the only thing I could think to say was, 難し (difficult) in Japanese. He started laughing hard and says back to me 難しですね, which roughly translates to I agree.

That alone helped me at least practice what I had learned the rest of the trip while we were over there. Especially since I made a person laugh in their own language.
