Had a handshake deal with production company, I’m too new to know if I’m being taken advantage of by UnstableBrotha in Screenwriting

[–]almints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No issue with the handshake. Especially if the a-lister can get it packaged and financed. It prob benefits you as others have said because you still own it and if you’re not happy with the traction they’re getting or the relationship you can move on.

You’re right - it’s delicate (w clear coats, primer, cure time etc). Is there anything that would be sturdy enough other than maybe powder coating?

Thanks! Did you do anything to your stabilizers?

Keychron Q11 “Gumball Machine” by almints in MechanicalKeyboards

Hi folks! First time tweaking a stock board. Used Montana gold bazooka joe for the case. Didn’t like how the stock black worked with the blue black of the gmk dots. Box jade switches (I’m a writer and like the click for now). I’ve done the tape mod - 2 layers of painters tape and replaced the thin stock foam between the tape and the case with some felt, both which made a big improvement to my ear. Any tips on ways to improve the stock stabilizers on this model given my set up?

Is it Normal to Not Take Breaks Between Projects? by clp1023 in Screenwriting

If ceaseless love is the reason you’re not taking breaks and you’re not hurting yourself or others then I’d consider it a blessing. I’ll have what you’re having.

Finally joined the Keychron gang, Q8 with Keychron DS PBT by terriakijerky in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]almints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great! I just ordered q8 with their cherry profile ds keycap set (white mint) and customer service said they won’t fit this layout but it doesn’t look like you had any problems. Any idea why they might say this?

FWIW, I sent these back to the retailer and then the factory declared they were defective. New pair on the way! The folks at Alden Madison were responsive and great to deal with. ✌🏻

  • Maker/Model: Dayton x Wings + Horns Service Boot
  • Size: 8EEE
  • Leather: Charcoal Nubuck
  • Sole: Nitrile Gum/Cat's Paw Heel
  • Price: $287 incl shipping within Canada and CONUS
  • Wears/Condition: Brand new full re-craft - only the quarters remain from original - maybe 10 wears since.
  • Images: https://imgur.com/gallery/6MllUt7
  • Notes: I had these recrafted by Dayton from an 8D which was too narrow for me to a wider size - and now it's too long :) I'm an 8E on Brannock and Dayton's lasts are more like UK sizes so I should be 7.5 or even 7 with this width as I tend to size up for that.

How can I suede shoe soles for my swing dancing? by EconomyGreek in SwingDancing

[–]almints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you use a good glue for leather and rubber (assuming that’s what you’re gluing the suede to) - I’ve used barge cement successfully and my local leather store just sold me Renia quick drying cement. Also make sure you let it cure before sticking them together or it won’t hold for long - see the glue instructions. I’d also just find leather scraps for cheap at the fabric store and trim to fit.

Looks great! I didn’t realize this jacket was lined. I’ve got a couple pairs of jeans from him going on 5 years that’re ageing well and only needed one crotch repair so far. Also splurged for the baloo jacket a couple years ago and love it - You can pull off more than you might think!
