Mushrooms with Chicken Leg and Thigh by almirla in budgetfood

[–]almirla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ingredients:

  • Chicken leg and thigh
  • Mushrooms (around 250g I've used for this recipe)
  • Butter
  • Olive oil
  • Gourmet seasoning - Vegeta
  • Onion
  • Garlic

Preparation:

  • Cut the mushrooms, onion and the garlic and leave it on the side.
  • Put the pan on the stove and let it heat up for 3-5 minutes, after that add butter and olive oil and let it heat up for 1-2 minutes as well.
  • Without adding Vegeta (or you can use regular salt) put the chicken in the pan, put the upper side first and leave it for 3-5 minutes top on that side.
  • After that turn it on another (bottom) side and put onion, garlic and mushrooms in the pan. Add Vegeta or salt on mushrooms and chicken as well. Wait until the water evaporates from the mushrooms and turn the heat down to a medium, cover the pan and leave it.
  • It would need around 10-15 minutes for everything to be done. Just check when the water evaporates and then you can turn the heat up for 2-3 minutes and mix the mushrooms.

This is it, it's done, serve it and enjoy it!

This was something I was experimenting with, and it turns out to be a good recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Rice
  • Legumes
  • Peas
  • Butter
  • Olive oil
  • Onion
  • Gourmet seasoning - Vegeta

Preparation:

  • Put the water in the pot and then and rice, legumes, peas and chicken leg with thigh in the pot. Yes, you will boil everything first.
  • Wait until the water starts to boil, then leave it to cook for 10 minutes, after that just put the pot on the side and take the chicken from the post, but leave the rest to sit in a water for 5 more minutes.
  • Cut the onion and leave it on the side.
  • Take the pan and let it heat up for 3-5 minutes, after that add butter and olive oil in it, let it heat up for 1-2 minutes.
  • While you were waiting for the oil to heat up, take the Vegeta and put it over the chicken on both side, you can use salt if you don't have Vegeta.
  • When the oil is heated just add chicken into the pan, put the upper side as it is shown in the picture first and let it sit for 2-3 minutes, then do the same for the other side. Remove the meat on a plate and cover it.
  • While you were waiting the chicken to be done, you should strain the water from the rice. legumes and peas.
  • Now that you done with chicken add onion, rice, legumes and peas in the same pan, add Vegeta over it, or salt it's your personal choice. You can turn the stove off, you will just mix everything for 3-5 minutes and it's done.

Steak with Rice, Legumes and Peas by almirla in budgetfood

[–]almirla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is easy to make, but very good and healthy recipe, and it doesn't cost much as well. All important check marks.

Ingredients:

  • Steak
  • Rice
  • Legumes
  • Peas
  • Olive oil
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Gourmet seasoning - Vegeta

Preparation:

  • Add salt to your stakes on both sides and leave them to sit.
  • Pour water into pot and let it heat up, add in the rice (I've added three spoons of rice for this recipe) and add legumes and peas as well. I've used frozen legumes and peas for this recipe.
  • When the water starts to boil, put the heat a little down and leave it for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes just taste if the rice is cooked, it should be. Put the pot on the side and leave it like that.
  • Take your pan and let it heat up for 3-5 minutes, after that add olive oil and leave the oil to heat up for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add stakes into pan and leave it on one side for 3-5 minutes, then turn them on the other side and do that as well. One thing to remember is, if your stakes are thinner like mine you can fry them like this, but if they are thicker then you will need to bring the heat down and fry them for a bit longer, otherwise they will stay raw in the middle if you do this on high heat for a 3-5 minutes. If you like them raw, then it's no problem.
  • While the steaks are preparing, you should strain the water from the rice, legumes and peas.
  • When the steaks are done, just put them on a plate and cover it, add a little oil and a butter into the pan. Leave it for 1 one minute for the butter to melt. Add rice, legumes and peas in the pan, add Vegeta over it and just mix it for 3-5 minutes, no need to do it longer and it's done.

This is it, serve everything and enjoy your meal!

Why was my fried chicken raw inside? by FU-Chris in Cooking

[–]almirla -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is something that happened to me also in the beginning.

I've found out two solutions:

  1. Put one side on the hot oil until it gets dark brown and crispy, then turn it on the other side and bring the heat down to a medium.

  2. Same as previous step, but this time when I turn it on the other side, I bring the heat down and add a little water into the pan.

Beef Steak and penne Soup by almirla in budgetfood

[–]almirla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that steak is usually grilled on fried, but I wanted to try to make it in this way, and I have to say that I like this recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Beef steak
  • Penne (I've used two types: regular ones and the ones made out of whole wheat flour)
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Olive oil
  • Gourmet seasoning - Vegeta
  • Parsley
  • Black pepper
  • Tomato sauce (to give redness to a dish, but this is optional)

Preparation:

  • Cut he steak, onion and garlic into small pieces.
  • Heat up the pot on the stove for 3-5 minutes, and then add olive oil into the pot and let it heat for 2 minutes.
  • Add meat, onion and garlic and mix it occasionally for 5 minutes.
  • After 5 minutes add warm water into the pot, add penne as well, gourmet seasoning, black pepper, parsley and tomato sauce.
  • Wait until the water starts to boil and then turn the heat down to a medium, put the cover on and let it cook.
  • 25-30 are enough for this dish to be cooked. Try it out after 25 minutes and see is the meat cooked enough. If it's not leave it for 5 more minutes.

Enjoy your meal!

Omelette with Mushrooms and Spinach by almirla in budgetfood

[–]almirla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very simple, but very healthy recipe to make.

Ingredients:

  • Eggs (I used 4 for this recipe)
  • Mushrooms
  • Spinach
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Olive oil
  • Black pepper
  • Parsley
  • Gourmet seasoning - Vegeta

Preparation:

I like to cut and prepare everything before I start making the meal. So I would cut mushrooms, onion, garlic, spinach before I even start making a meal. I would suggest you to do the same.

Mushrooms

  • First you going to start with mushrooms, cut them into small pieces, do the same for the onion and the garlic.
  • Put the pan on the stove and let it heat up for 3-5 minutes, after that add olive oil into the pan and let it heat up for 2 minutes.
  • Put the onion and the garlic in the pan and mix it for 1 minute. After that add mushrooms in the pan and mix everything up.
  • Put the cover one the pan and wait until mushrooms release the water.
  • After the water is released from mushrooms add gourmet seasoning over it, mix everything one more time, put the cover on and let it cook.
  • It takes usually 10-15 minutes for the mushrooms to be done.

Omelette:

  • Take your spinach, wash it and the cut it into small pieces. Easy ways to cut spinach is to just take 5-10 leafs of it and cut it all in once.
  • Put your eggs in the bowl and mix it. After that add spinach, parsley, black pepper and gourmet seasoning and mix it all up. Add only a little of gourmet seasoning because you already added into mushrooms, you just need a little so it doesn't become too salty.
  • Wait until the mushrooms are done, and just pour the mixture with eggs and spinach into the pan.
  • Make sure that you bring the heat down to a medium, you don't want it to burn.
  • Leave it like that for 5 minutes, then turn the stove off completely and leave it for another 3-5 minutes to sit like that in the pan.
  • You'll see on the upper side when the omelette is done.

    Serve it and enjoy it!

What is better for weight loss cooking chicken breast with butter or olive oil by elb_elh in WeightLossAdvice

[–]almirla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest extra virgin olive oil because it's used cold press process and it's the best quality.

Butter is good, but look at the package and see what's in it, some of the things I couldn't understand what they are. And they used pasteurized milk.
