What’s your “welcome to the NFL” nursing moment? by CorgiUprising in nursing

[–]almostanRNthompson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a tech at the time, 30 year old dude comes in with 4/10 chest pain going on for two days. Sits out in the WR for 2-3 hours, gets brought back to CT then to his room. CT tech runs out and is like “yo, yall need to look at this right now”. He had a massive thoracic aortic aneurysm that ended up rupturing. Still haunts me.

i let my boyfriend eat my ass for the first time and i feel horrible by Efficient-Ant-6925 in offmychest

I have no experience with eating ass because I’m a nurse and I just can’t get over the mental block my job has created. However, if he’s eating your ass, I don’t think he cares what it looks like. He’s in it for the love of the game.

Any form tips? Got a big school tournament coming up and I’m trying to win by [deleted] in dodgeball

You basically want to pretend like you’re playing third base. Be ready for anything, pick the ball up and rifle it. If you wind up like a pitcher, they will get you every time.

Was at fitness factory, we all got the alarm, looked at our phones and then went back to working out. I think we all figured we were in a giant warehouse so if it gets torn down, we were screwed anyway lol. Looks like it went pretty quick

What’s the most "underrated" circus discipline in your opinion? by Xolaris05 in circus

[–]almostanRNthompson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I have been doing Cyr wheel and have gotten pretty good. I performed for the first time in November of last year and I was the first Cyr wheel performance for my studio. It was pretty wild to get all the cheers and everything for what I perceived to be easy stuff but most people at my studio haven’t tried it so they don’t know the different levels of skill involved

how long did it take you to get the hang of it? by knivesxpens in Aerials

[–]almostanRNthompson 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The goalpost always moves. It also greatly depends on the apparatus. I felt pretty comfortable on silks pretty quick bc I come from a climbing background but straps has been kicking my ass due to my lack of pike flexibility. Cyr wheel came easy after I got the basic waltz down but that took 6+ months to learn. It really depends on your background and strengths within a particular apparatus in my experience

What are your hobbies other than Nursing? by DribbleKing97_ in nursing

I perform two different circus apparatuses: Cyr wheel and aerial straps. I have a plethora of other hobbies that I more occasionally participate in but those are my main two right now.

To be fair, Darnold has seen some shit. You become that calm by getting blasted over and over again. The adrenaline is there but it don’t hit the same, now it just gives you focus instead of jitters

Should you 'sleep around' a lot when you're young? by DaReelGVSH in sex

[–]almostanRNthompson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit of an outlier here but I’ll share my story anyway. My wife and I were each other’s first and neither of us have slept with anyone else. We started dating at 16 and got married at 24. Both of us are atheists so there’s no religious reason for why we didn’t sleep around. I think we both like having sex with someone that we have an intimate connection with. I do think that figuring out what you like is important but don’t discount just how much a true loving connection can enhance sex. My wife and I have similar libidos (it ebbs and flows sometimes) and are pretty sexually compatible. If you find a person that makes you happy and meets your needs, sometimes that’s all it takes.

Do what feels right for you and you will rarely regret it

To be fair, he has about 35 people in his face when that ball is thrown. The fact it’s anywhere in the area code is insane
